    Down To Earth Stay w/ Homegrown Vibe

    Location! Location! Location! This spot is best for the price and proximity to downtown and surrounding area. The rooms are clean and breakfast is included. There’s all sorts of restaurants and stores in walking distance. Now the cons are the elevator is an issue and was out of order leaving one working with wait times. Several times I did take the stairs which is always a plus. I’ve heard talked to numerous hard working people who frequent this hotel and despite the few kinks they still return and so will I.

    We stayed on the 5th floor and it was nice. We were in an even number room on the street side but so high up that we never heard the street noise. Our room was nice and clean. They are remodeling so there is some construction work to look over. They do serve breakfast also and they have a decent breakfast selection. They also have an indoor pool but we did not visit it so I have no comment on it.

    I would like to take the time to thank Armando at the front desk for his kindness and extremely helpful actions. My brother and I were meeting in Chicago to drive to Indiana for our sister's funeral. It was a difficult time, to say the least. Armando was patient with our check-in, gave very helpful advice, and really helped make our difficult traveling as pleasant as possible. All of the staff was gracious and efficient, and the hotel was spottles with nice comfortable rooms. I will definitely be a regular customer of Holiday Inn Express from now on. Thank you, Armando!

    The worst hotel experience in 30+ years of traveling. This place is a dump. The first room was so bad that I went to the desk soon after checking in to change rooms. The room had stains on almost every piece of furniture and most of the carpet, distressed furniture, torn-up lampshades, and stained and wrinkled sheets. We also found an old tissue under the sheets on one of the beds. Someone replaced the hand soap in the bathroom with lotion instead of more soap. I have photos of everything.The second room was not much better. We should have left right away. Checked into a different hotel for the remainder of our trip. Stayed one night in this hell hole and will never stay at this hotel again. It should be shut down. Completely unacceptable to operate a facility in that condition. On top of this, my credit card was changed twice. I have contacted the hotel three times since checking out. I sent an email to the general manager, Rick Johnson, that is bouncing back. I also sent an email to IHG member services. I also left Rick Johnson a voicemail. I am requesting a full refund.     When we arrived at our room, there was a plunger outside our door. Guess what? We needed it. The floor was dirty with candy wrappers and other debris. When the toilet broke we were told there was no maintenance person to help us. All they did was give us back that same plunger. Things were dirty and broken throughout the hotel.
