The lobby and front entry from Monroe St are beautiful. The restaurant was good - we had breakfast there one morning - it was good. All the staff were very courteous and helpful. The room was small and the bathrooms are tiny. We upgraded to a room with 2 bathrooms - both tiny. Outside the lobby, the hotel could use some remodeling. It is aged. Some of the floors around the elevators could be cleaned better - substantial dust and dirt was visible. Really convenient downtown location.

My stay is in October, and I'm having so many issues with this hotel. Disappointing Service and Multiple Incorrect ChargesI am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Palmer House, a Hilton Hotel.I originally had two reservations and canceled one of them. Despite this, I was charged three times, and the reservation I intended to keep was canceled instead. This has created significant frustration and inconvenience.Trying to resolve the issue has been a nightmare. No one answers the phone, and I have spent more than an hour and a half on hold without receiving assistance. The hotel directs customers to communicate by text message, but that is not my preferred method for resolving a complicated billing and reservation issue.I expect Palmer House to review my reservations and charges immediately, refund all incorrect charges, and confirm the status of the reservation I intended to keep. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel.

What a horrible hotel! It is an old building, but they use that to excuse it being terribly neglected. The elevators are slowwwww. Check in is slowwww. My room stunk of cigarette smoke even though it is supposed to be a smoke free hotel.Eveything looked like it was from the 70's or 80's and not in a good way. The reception area is beautiful, but all the furnitare, the fixturews, the lights, everything is old and outdated and falling apart. And expensive on top of that. There is no reason to stay at such a terrible hotel when there are so many good options around.
