    Disappointing Stay with Maintenance and Elevator Issues

    Stayed at the Sheraton Suites Chicago Elk Grove and unfortunately the experience was disappointing overall.Our suite had a leaking toilet upon arrival, which immediately raised concerns regarding room maintenance and quality control. Frankly, it was obvious from the sound alone that the toilet was continuously leaking, which made me question how this room received a VR status in the first place. Because the engineer had already left for the evening, I was forced to switch rooms, which was not easy considering we had a large amount of luggage and were traveling with a pet.In addition, only one elevator appeared to be operational during our stay. At one point, we waited approximately 15 minutes just to go up a single floor. The situation became so inconvenient that a staff member actually recommended we use the service elevator instead of the guest elevators.Another disappointment was the internet service. Despite Marriott Bonvoy status benefits, there was no enhanced internet upgrade available.The club lounge was also below average compared to other Sheraton and Marriott properties we have stayed at over the years. The offerings and overall presentation felt underwhelming.Lastly, the room design itself lacked basic comfort considerations. The windows had no sheer curtains, meaning the only options were either complete blackout curtains closed or fully exposed windows with no privacy or filtered natural light.Overall, this property did not meet the standards we typically expect from the Sheraton brand.

    Showing its age. Broken elevator. Bathroom sink would not drain, toilet filled up to edge before flushing and hot water handle was broken. Room was very tired. On top, someone pulled the fire alarm twice at 2:30 an 3am causing hotel evacuation. Last item, club room breakfast is a continental consisting only of grains which a portion of us cannot eat. Pros: good location should you be in the area and a good price point but to get what you pay for. Will not be back. Too many other options.

    If you have any status that gives you the free breakfast don’t expect to use. Was told it was only good for the buffet at this location. If they are going to do that they should have at least kept the buffet stocked. There wasn’t anything on it.

    Continuing to go downhill! Be careful if you are a loyal Marriott Member!

    Unfortunately this property continues to go downhill! The positive is that Kenny is still behind the bar. He is the best and goes way above in taking care of you. The food at the bar is still good. The negative, what have they done to the Club Lounge? Cut backs are one thing, but this is outrageous. After the first night we switched to the buffet downstairs, unfortunately this was what the Club Lounge used to offer. No snacks at night. Truly a disaster!The rooms are tired and need an update!If they don’t make some drastic changes this property will be done. Truly a shame!

    Room was modern, spacious, and clean. Check-in was quick. WiFi signal was pretty good. Fitness center had a couple ellipticals and treadmills along with a set of weights. There weren’t really any restaurants within easy walking distance. Good location overall though. If you like to go on a nice, relaxing run (like I do) or bike, there is Busse Trail nearby. I’d probably stay at this property again. Price was reasonable for what you get.
