    We Enjoyed Our Stay.

    rating13 Sept 2026

Hotel is Old, but has charm. Rooms were fine & clean, better than most in town. Location is great. I wish they had a restaurant. I would stay again, and would recommend especially for the value. Staff was always helpful & polite.

“Resort” disguised as a time share trap.

    rating29 Aug 2026

This by far was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at from a service standpoint and is very predatory to its customers. My girlfriend and I wanted a getaway to Chicago for our anniversary weekend. We researched this place, and the location made tons of sense. We pulled up, and the lobby check-in was not very organized, and we were ushered into a side room. We spoke to a rep, and through our conversation, they explained a little about the property and how it’s the first of its kind that wanted to provide a great experience for sports lovers. I thought, man, Sports Illustrated is definitely switching up their business model and thinking outside the box. While talking to the rep at the counter, she asked if we wanted to take a “tour” of the hotel that lasted about 60-90 minutes. In exchange for that “tour,” we were given free valet ($75 a night) and a $150 Visa gift card. I eerily looked at my girlfriend, noticing some things sound too good to be true, but we figured a short tour of a hotel for an hour was worth the value. The only catch was that we had to put down a $100 deposit because some people “just ghosted the tour the next day.” Upon getting to our room after being given incorrect keys and the wrong booking, I inspected the slip and did a little research on the internet that explained our “tour” for the next morning. It was a timeshare presentation worded behind layers of crap. The company running the timeshare? Travel + Leisure, an American timeshare company.Upon learning of this info, we figured, eh, let’s call down and ask for our deposit back well in advance of the scheduled time. We spoke to the rep who misled us along with another front desk employee who just routed us back to the original rep. We were advised that we could not get the deposit back due to giving us “perks” we advised we wouldn’t use the perks since we just checked in. The rep advised that she would have to check with management, who coincidentally would be in the office until the following day, which wouldn’t be enough time.At that point, we were over the trickery and just ready to enjoy our night. We decided to go upstairs to their complimentary rooftop bar to have a drink or two after the awful experience we just endured. The rooftop bar had tons of fun games, and the vibes were fun! One thing that seemed off was the alcohol and snacks provided by the hotel. A majority of items and alcohol were Costco’s very own “Kirkland Signature” brand. Now, listen, I’m not one to complain about free snacks, but I’m pretty sure using Costco products in a hotel is not allowed by the State of Illinois. The room was average, definitely a weird layout, but the beds were comfy and clean. Overall, spend your time and money elsewhere in Chicago. There are substantially better hotels to stay at that won’t mislead or harass you into time-share pitches. Travel + Leisure, don’t mind commenting with the generic email us response.

    Perfect Couple's Getaway!

    rating05 Aug 2026

Top 3 things: Service, rooftop views, cool historical buildingLOVE the rooftop and the views, the guest exclusive accessto it so it's not overcrowded and feels super VIP. The games and the complimentary happy hour add such a cool touch! Regarding the room: the storage and bathroom area was a healthy size and I loved the sit down makeup table and the size of the sinks so it was easy to share the space! It's in an old bank building so the elevators and original decor is super cute and you can still see the vibe from the Virgin hotel in the rooms, so it meshes well. The vintage SMEG cooler was convenient and cute but more than anything, the customer service La 'Tisa and Darrell (and you, too Mohamed!) provided made it so comfortable to come in to plus the texting leading up to the trip made it feel so personal eeeeven if it's an auto text and me replying like I'm texting a friend. The biggest part was they surprised us with an anniversary hotel gift and I was SO wowed, that was a first for us and we didn't even ask for it! They checked us in early which was huge and the staff was genuinely so kind, it was such a shocker coming from Nashville where good service is so hard to find! Will be fun to try the one here when it opens but I'll definitely be going back to this when I visit. I don't understand the reviews that complained about noise, it's a CITY. If you're looking for an all inclusive service hotel, this is not for you, but if you're like us and love to eat and drink and explore the city, this is a perfect way to make that happen, esp with that fridge! I will highly recommend this place, the convenience to the train and it's so walkable pretty much anywhere you want to go. Lastly, those homemade chocolate chip cookies....ALWAYS choose that when you have that option. I always felt safe and secure and loved that it wasn't overcrowded feeling.

    Perfect place for couples.

    rating14 Jul 2026

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The resort is in the heart of downtown Chicago, making it the perfect location to explore the city. Our room was modern, comfortable, and offered beautiful views from the 20th floor. One of our favorite perks was the complimentary food and drinks served daily on the 26th-floor lounge. Although the resort is currently undergoing renovations and has limited on-site amenities, its central location more than makes up for it. We were within walking distance of Millennium Park, the Flyover Chicago experience, Navy Pier, and many excellent restaurants and attractions. Our only downside was the $79 daily parking fee. Looking back, we would have skipped the rental car and simply taken an Uber from the airport. If you enjoy live jazz, don't miss Winter's Jazz Club. We had an incredible evening listening to Better Together. We've traveled extensively around the world and appreciate great jazz, and this group was among the best we've heard.Chicago also exceeded our expectations. On our first day, we took the subway to a Cubs vs. White Sox game and experienced firsthand the city's passion for baseball. While Chicago often gets attention for crime, our visit gave us a very different impression. We felt comfortable exploring the city, and everywhere we ate, the food was outstanding. We can't wait to return!

Ok for short stay, dated and over priced

    rating12 Jul 2026

Slow check in service which was painful after 14 hours travelling. The place is in a good location but it’s very dated and basic and bad views of the city.Limited amenities in the room and the rooms are not serviced so you have to ask if you need anything.Staff are friendly and nice.It was ok for our short stay but over priced for what you get.
