    Shabby and Unclean Experience

    Friend and I stay at this location for a weekend while we were visiting the Rock Falls area. Picked the location because they had a larger suite room available for a reasonable price, which gave us extra space without breaking the bank.Room was large, but it wasn't as impressive as we hoped. Furniture was old, shabby, and fairly uncomfortable. Room was moderately clean, but it smelled really musty. Floor was sunken in multiple areas, which moved and creaked as we walked about the room.Service was friendly if not overly helpful. No breakfast options offered, nor was there really any other amenities available during our stay. Perhaps we got what we paid for, but I doubt that we'll stay at this hotel again in the future.

    AVOID! Run down and moldy.

    AVOID! Worst hotel I’ve ever booked and the only one I’ve ever left without staying. Multiple red flags upon entering the room:- The deadbolt would not work as it couldn’t go into the door frame.- The carpet was bumpy.- Room looked shabby with run down furniture and smelled off.- Used the bathroom and when the toilet (which was very small and low to the ground) wouldn’t stop running I took the lid off to fix the stuck float. The tank was full of mold.- Final straw: went to check the temp on the wall a/c unit and the vents were full of mold.I grabbed my things and headed down to return the key. The woman at the desk was pleasant and offered to switch my room but I didn’t want to stay there anymore. She said Trip Advisor would have to contact them for the refund since I booked through TA. Called the 800# and the rep called the hotel and told me they’d have to contact the manager and would be in touch. I had the refund within a few hours so kudos to TA for solving things quickly. The hotel didn’t fight the refund either so at least they got that right but I will be hesitant to stay at another Super 8 or any Wyndham hotel in the future.

    Stayed here for 3 days with my girlfriend. She attacked me so I called the cops. The owner wouldn't let the Cops or I in the room to get my car keys and wallet. She is in jail and they won't let me get all of her kids toys and clothing.Trip General Manager, Owner at Super 8 by Wyndham Rock Falls Sterling Area, responded to this review the reviewer is not a registered guest at the motel

    Nice for the money, but breakfast is small.

    For the room cost it is a very nice hotel. The only negative my wife and I had is that only cereals were offered as primary breakfast meal. And when we found that there was no more milk another customer asked the person at the front desk if there is more. The answer was that there was no delivery and that was that. Surely he had someone employee who could have gone after some - and there were still persons coming in for breakfast.

    Amazing staff that was always there to happily meet my needs. Front desk, house keeper and overnight clerk all did an amazing job during my stay.
