Booked this hotel for a concert we flew in to attend. We were running late due to flight delays. Stopped at the hotel and a really nice guy at the front desk held our luggage and said “you’re good” knowing we were late for the concert. When we returned at approximately 1am after the concert we were greeted by the rudest woman behind the desk who told us they gave our room away and she did not have any other options. Her exact words were “what do you want me to do “ we had no choice but to head back to the airport, change our flights (additional $500) and head home. 36 hours with no sleep. Will never book this hotel again or recommend it. Per hotel policy, reservations that have not been checked in by midnight are considered a no-show, at which point the reservation is no longer guaranteed and the room may be released. Unfortunately, when you returned to the hotel at approximately 1:00 AM, the reservation had already been processed as a no-show.That said, we regret that the interaction you described with our team did not reflect the professionalism and courtesy we expect our guests to receive. We understand how disruptive the situation was to your travel plans and appreciate you sharing your experience.

Booked through AMEX $1,300+ for two nights is a Suite. This hotel is no close to AMEX collection standards. Old. Tired. Threadbare. And the fees are bananas.Suite had a total of 2 glasses in the bathroom, about 10 oz each. Called the front desk for glassware and was told to go to the bar and ask for glasses. No coffee maker in the room. Bathroom is 6x6. Furniture has rips in it. No charger near the bed. Exposed wires in the living room. Pictures are accurate but expertly staged. One a grand hotel the Ambassador is now a sad dusty shadow of its former self. Resort fee rip off

Very disappointed with this hotel. You pay a 99 dollar resort fee and basically get nothing apart from breakfast and a free drink. The hotel is nice but there is no coffee making facilities in the rooms and nowhere to get coffee in the lobby. We had a meal here and asked for a coffee after the meal and was told they only do coffee in the morning. The bed is very low although Is comfortable. On our first night we got woke up at6am with the lady in the next room obviously having a conversation on her phone.I have stayed in numerous hotels in the US and this is the first one that did not have any coffee making facilities or coffee. I feel the 99 dollars resort fee is basically a way to get more money for the rooms. The 266 extra dollars resort fee with tax made this a very expensive stay. Neighborhood Feel

One of our favorite hotels when in Chicago for its tucked away neighborhood feel. Love walking Gold Coast’s tree lined streets among locals walking their dogs, sipping coffees at the corner cafe, carrying grocery totes from the market. Location is just a hop to the lakeshore, many parks, small restaurants & boutique shops. Hotel history keeps us coming back too knowing we have shared the property with many greats ?? Love to see the Pump Room open for buffet breakfast again but would suggest more attention to selection, maybe to include local/regional bagels & breads, jams, granola. Think classy elevation for a renowned dining experience! (Message me for ideas ??)
