    Great location, just OK room.

    Location is fantastic! If you want walkability in River North this is a great spot. The room itself was just ok. A simple but very comfortable king size bed, a small closet area to hang things, no drawer storage to speak of (if you like to unpack you have to get a bit creative), and a small refrigerator (a plus always IMO). We had a great view of downtown, on the 14th floor, which was nice! This hotel has a FABULOUS 4th floor rooftop bar and restaurant with amazing views, so I would stay here again if I favored a great location and a fun restaurant. It does however turn into a party at night/weekends with brunch, and we woke up every night to sounds of loud, drunk voices (3am-4am), so there's that. You pay for the location, but I wouldn't call it an elevated hotel stay experience overall.     Lovely lounge, food and drinks but expectation of 20% service + tips is too much.

    This relates specifically to the I/O rooftop lounge. Lovely location and lounge, nice views although only 4th floor. Food nice and and cocktails good. Again we found the horrible tipping system where 20% service is automatically added on then expectation of a tip as well. I'm happy to tip 20-25% but not like this. We followed the dress code but there is no point to a code if you don't enforce it. One group inappropriately dressed and allowed to carry out a prolonged photo shoot which isn't fair on other guests. Based on food, drinks, and quality of lounge would definitely go again but some tweaks needed.     Reasonable standard typical city / tourist / transit hotel for short stay

    Stayed 2 nights at start of vacation and 1 night at the end on recomendation of tour company. The hotel rooms and facilities are typical of city hotels and were reasonable. The decor in the bedroom had been refreshed and the bathroom was a little worn but not obviouslly. The number, furnishing, decor and standard of rooms is similar to mid range chain hotels - we would not define it as boutique. One of the main lifts was out of service on arrival and still so when we returned a week later - 16 floors made access a challenging - service stairs did not lead freely to reception.The restaurant felt disengaged from the hotel and the standard and range of food and beverage didi not impress. Similar to other US city hotels there was a significant amount of take out food being brought in or delivered.The roof top terrace was on the 4th floor and in effect below or in line with other building roof top and HVac plant which did not exactly match the description. Location was good for the main retail areas, lake and art museum.     Arrived at the hotel at 9pm to wait a long time to check in. I asked about room service & was told there would be a QR code in the room. There was none. I called to inquire, they told me it was on the TV but they didn’t know where. I was then told it hadn’t been installed but I could look up the restaurant menu online. Finally I get access to the menus only to be told they stopped room service at 9:30. This is not the kind of service a four star should be offering. The staff plays naive and clueless. The impression I was left with was they really don’t care and it was my problem. Honestly, there are many other hotels who do service really well, this is not one of them.
