Want peace and quiet? Stay off the square side of the hotel.

I’ve stayed at the Westin several times because it’s basically the only hotel with conference facilities in downtown Cincinnati. The location is very central, and the rooms are spacious and well-appointed if showing their age a little bit. Restaurant options are very limited in the hotel itself. Here’s my tip: if you want a quiet hotel stay, get a room on the opposite side of the building from the square. The hotel considers rooms facing Fountain Square to be an upgrade, and that’s what I got. Unfortunately, it was during Cinco De Mayo weekend, which meant live music was playing on the square for most of the day and evening Saturday and all day Sunday. Doing a little work or taking a little nap in the room was impossible, despite being across the street and 15 floors up, and wearing silicone ear plugs! If none of this drowns out the music sufficiently, you’ve got a hotel with a noise problem. It isn’t a city thing. Mind you, I have stayed in downtown hotels in London, Chicago and New York and have never had this problem.

Many of the reviews below were close to accurate but all it took was Jobi, from reception, who on the get go made our check in process seamless knowing that we were there for a wedding event. She quickly rectify by putting us in larger room from a botched unclean room. She went far and beyond to give us free appetizers at McCormicks. The hamburger was awesome there using brioche bread. I felt sorry for the sole chef who was overwhelmed cooking breakdast for every guest. The line was long. Overall, I had a great stay.

My daughter and I stopped on our way south just to sleep. Check in was easy and very friendly staff.The room was very clean but is very outdated and worn. Not sure we would stay here again for the price.

Stayed four nights for work meetings held on-site. The hotel is full-service but dated. It’s conveniently located downtown, close to Starbucks, ATMs, restaurants, bars, and the Great American Ball Park. My room was spacious but poorly laid out, worn, and in need of renovation. The TV was small, and the bathroom’s shower/tub combo felt outdated.Housekeeping was inconsistent, showing up only 75% of the time. The overnight front desk clerk appeared unprofessional, more focused on vaping than assisting guests.Security was good, requiring room keycards for elevator access. Meeting spaces were adequate; AV had a few hiccups but was resolved quickly. Catering staff were excellent.Event organizers mentioned they preferred the nearby Hyatt for its more modern feel, but it was fully booked. After staying here, I can see why.
