A lovely place to stay to explore a beautiful area on the Gulf coast of Florida

    rating15 Jun 2026

We stayed here for 4 nights before moving inland to Orlando. The room was fabulous and very well appointed and the resort is both close to a lovely beach (where you can see some wonderful sunsets) but also mid point between Clearwater and St Petersburg therefore being an ideal spot to explore this part of the coast. There are also some excellent places to have breakfast within walking distance. I would highly recommend Barefoot Beach Resort as a place to stay to explore the Gulf Coast.

Like an Airbnb without the Airbnb price.

I LOVED this experience!! It was such a wonderful time. Beautiful, beautiful interior cutely decorated with lots of space to relax as a suite. It was just my husband and me, no kids, so just 2 adults. The check in clerks were very friendly and answered all questions. No fear for safety as well, it seemed in a nice quiet location. It’s walking distance to the beach, with a very convenient cross walk right across the hotel. No food or room service is provided, but they provide that information on a pamphlet upon arrival, so no surprises. In the suites are a fridge, stove, plates, silverware, even a coffee maker so they provide everything you’d need to make your own food.I’d definitely recommend this place for a relaxing retreat for couples or people with kids. It’s like an Airbnb without the Airbnb prices.

    Lovely Place in Great Location

    rating06 Apr 2026

Really liked this resort. Indian Shores is a lovey quiet area south of the madness of Clearwater and about 40 mins from Tampa Airport. It’s is series of privately owned condo units. You pay separately for the services like the pool and the gas BBQs around the resort (which were great); c. $80pw. It has water to both sides which was lovely; harbour to one and the beach access on the other. Pool area small but perfectly adequate. Our condo was decked out with all the essentials. The only slight gripes were the bed wasn’t great in ours and dipped in the middle. Also there is an apparent lack of recycling facilities that we are not used to I the UK. But all in all a great place and would certainly go again. Recommend the Indian Shores Coffee Co. About 500 yards away. Excellent coffee but gets very busy.

Should be renamed The BLACKFOOT BEACH RESORT

    rating08 Dec 2025

Where do I even begin, first let me start by saying that 95% of the time my online reviews are of a positive nature. Very sad to have to leave such a negative review but it must be said. I booked 3 units here for Dec 4-6 2025 one room for my wife & I, a room for my daughter, son in law & grandsons, and a room for my son and his girlfriend. My son’s room was ready first so we all went there first. As we were unloading the cars a maintenance man told us that he turned the water off for the building as he was making repairs to the building, (water was turned off for 3 hours). Once inside the unit we had a view of the pool, unbeknownst to us we see workers with concrete saws cutting in new pool tiles around the pool, concrete dust flying everywhere. It was immediately obvious that the pool was closed and unusable. Pool was closed for both days of our stay. This was especially a problem since our two small grandchildren were looking forward to using the pool. In fact my daughter went to the office and demanded a refund and left for a room at a nearby hotel with a pool. Next my unit was ready, so my wife and I go to our room and drop our bags off. Upon entering I took my flip flops off and in less than 10 minutes my feet were as black as black as charcoal, floors were absolutely filthy. Furthermore there were dead bugs inside of the utensil drawers, dust everywhere, mold on the ceilings, rusted door hinges. This is NOT what one would expect when paying $175 per night, I wouldn’t expect this even at $70 per night. Also add to the fact that this so called “resort” was a literal construction zone, big construction dumpsters and debris scattered throughout the property. Now I do understand as a Floridian that this area was hit hard last year by two hurricanes. However this place should be closed until all repairs have been made, the nerve of them to charge top dollar when 50% of the property is a construction zone. At the very least how about putting a disclaimer on their website regarding the ongoing contruction so people are aware of this ahead of time. Sure I can look the other way with the construction but I just cannot look away from the absolute filth of the units that are rentable, there is NO excuse for filth when people pay good hard earned money to stay here. I will NEVER return and I will strongly advise looking elsewhere if you are considering a stay at the beach. This is NOT the place. BLACKFOOT BEACH RESORT never again ?? A great little gem of a hotel

Excellent little hotel. Quaint, clean and right by beaches with shopping and restaurants. Stacy the owner was the sweetest hardworking person. We will definitely be back.
