    I don’t write many reviews, but if I can prevent someone else from making the same mistake I did with this hotel, then I feel like I’ve done my job.From the moment we checked in around 4 p.m. on 5/8/26, I had a feeling this stay wasn’t going to be great. To be clear, I don’t expect front desk staff to throw a welcome party or act overly cheerful. I do, however, expect basic adult interaction and courtesy. The woman who checked us in was incredibly cold and unfriendly.The room itself had a decent layout, and the beds were fairly comfortable, but the furniture was absolutely disgusting. There were stains everywhere — so bad that I wouldn’t even let my daughter sit on the couch until I covered it with a sheet. I also found trash sitting openly on one of the chairs, not hidden in a cushion or tucked away, just left there in plain sight. I went back to the front desk to ask for another blanket to cover the chair. The employee returned with a bundled-up blanket from the back room, handed it over without a word or even a smile, and that was that.On Saturday, we had some downtime, so I decided to check out the pool. The walls were covered in green algae. Personally, it didn’t completely gross me out since it’s no different than swimming in a lake or river, but if cleanliness is important to you, you may want to skip the pool altogether.One thing that wasn’t the staff’s fault was the road noise from the highway. It was pretty loud throughout the stay, but that’s more on the building’s design and location than the employees.Checking out Sunday morning was just as unpleasant as check-in. No greeting, no “have a good day,” nothing. The employee had a cell phone in one hand while taking the room keys with the other.The one bright spot was the breakfast. It was surprisingly good considering the rest of the experience. The area was clean, well-maintained, and had a solid variety of options. Honestly, that’s the only reason this place gets two stars from me.

    Do you like dog piss?

    Apparently every room here is a “pet” room. Checked in on Hilton app the night before and picked my room. Got to hotel and room smelled like dog piss. Immediately went down to alert and complain, got another room. That one smelled like a cat pissed on a dog, then the dog crapped on the floor. Complained again and asked for the no pet rooms…was told that all rooms are pet rooms. … WTF? How would anyone think this is a good business idea? Smells, my kid is allergic to dander. Ended up going back to the original room because it was the least-smelly choice. … I’ve been a true Hampton inn fan for about 25 years, but I cant, and won’t, stay again if they insist on this business model

    “Pleasant Stay After a Long Drive—Good Service, but Needs a Few Touches”

    “Friendly Staff and Clean Rooms, but Some Details Missed the Mark”After a 12-hour drive, this was our final stop before reaching home. We had originally planned to stay in Wichita Falls, but decided to push on a couple more hours. Thankfully, we were able to cancel that reservation and still receive a refund—a welcome surprise after such a long day on the road.When we arrived at the Hampton Inn in Mansfield, our first impression was a bit uncertain. We initially thought a person sitting outside might be a local passerby, but it turned out to be another guest. No one was at the front desk at first, but a sign explained that the clerk was assisting another guest. When he returned, he was professional, courteous, and quickly got us checked in.The property was in the process of having the carpets cleaned, and several fans were running throughout the hallways. While it’s great to see the hotel taking care of maintenance, the hallways had an unpleasant odor—though thankfully, our room itself was clean and smelled fresh.We asked for a dinner recommendation, and the front desk associate suggested a nearby restaurant within walking distance (through the adjoining parking lots). The food there was exceptional and a great tip after a long day’s drive.Breakfast the next morning was delicious and well maintained. However, I noticed that the infused water station—something I look forward to at every Hampton—wasn’t as inviting as usual. It’s a small detail, but sometimes the little touches make a big difference in the guest experience.Everyone we encountered was polite and helpful, and overall, our stay was pleasant. Still, given the price point and small details missed, I might consider other Hilton options in the area next time.

    The hotel has a musky smell from the dirty carpet and wet area around the pool. Laundry is $4 to fully do and requires quarters. The hotel will book rooms and then not have them available, requiring you to wait in the lobby while they clean the rooms.

    BEWARE-This hotel has bedbugs!!

    My family stayed at this hotel at the end of June 2025. Five out of six of my family members were attacked by bedbugs. Hilton’s response was extremely poor. When my mother took one of the bedbugs down to the front desk in plastic to show the person on duty, they didn’t even seem surprised. We requested a full refund for both rooms and Hilton had the nerve to say the bedbugs were only in one room so they would issue a refund for that one room. This entire ordeal caused my family a lot of stress, we had to take the necessary precautions when we flew back home to New York City to make sure that we did not take the bugs in into our homes. My nephew suffered the worse, he even had to miss camp because he was in pain from the bites. I have attached some of the pictures of his bites to this review. As a Hilton diamond member, I am extremely disappointed in how Hilton handled this experience, and I will never look at them the same again.
