    Very rude front desk

    rating18 Mar 2026

I had a very frustrating and disappointing experience with this hotel. I booked a two-night stay but accidentally selected the wrong dates due to issues with the app repeatedly changing the month. While I take responsibility for the booking mistake, what followed was completely unacceptable. When I called the front desk to explain the situation, I was greeted rudely. The staff member I spoke with seemed uninterested in helping and was clearly trying to rush me off the phone. He repeatedly told me to contact the third-party booking service without listening to my explanation, mentioned he had someone waiting, and abruptly hung up on me. This was especially upsetting given that I was already dealing with the stress of traveling to Dallas for a funeral that weekend.I contacted the third-party service, and they told me they would work with the hotel to process a refund. I was later told the hotel had canceled the reservation without a fee. However, after following up again a week later, I was informed there would be no refund due to the type of reservation I made. Now I’m out over $300 with no stay and no refund. The lack of consistency, poor communication, and extremely rude customer service made an already difficult situation much worse. This experience was unfair and deeply disappointing. I would not recommend staying here based on how they handle customer concerns.

Great hotel. Clean, wonderful staff. It is noisy but of course it is right by the freeway so can't help road noise. Room did have a white noise machine so no problem! Daija and Samary at front desk were amazing. Super efficient and friendly. Will stay again for sure. Veey nice bar with amazing outdoor space and skyline views. Price was also very reasonable

    Great Stay for Group Travel

    rating09 Oct 2025

A few weeks ago, I worked with the Director of Sales to coordinate +10 rooms for a three-day corporate stay. My experience with Erin was excellent from start to finish!! She was very accommodating, even when I needed a last minute room adjustment and/or late check-outs due to flight plans. Our group is a very active group, and the hotel was within walking distance of the conference, which made logistics easy. Also within a 15-minute walk, there are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and other conveniences. Our group especially enjoyed the rooftop!I personally traveled with my large dog, and the property was pet friendly and convenient. The design district right around the corner has a great walking path that made my long morning and evening walks easy & enjoyable. My colleagues are pretty easygoing and don’t expect much, but the breakfast had enough options to satisfy everyone. For a Tru, the value was fair for the price! The only heads up I would give other guests is that being near the highway, it can be a bit noisy at times. However, the hotel is aware of this and provides earplugs and a noise machine, which was a thoughtful touch.Overall, a great experience, and I would happily book here again for future group stays!!

    Best Bang for Your Buck

    rating19 Sept 2025

Went to TX for the first time for a concert at the AA Center and took my time reading reviews and comparing other affordable hotels. I even had to cancel Springhill after reading a bad review that was non negotiable. Needless to say, I am glad I chose TRU and will be coming back again.Pros:- clean room and hotel. I didn’t see any bugs- friendly and nice front desk - about 20 mins walk to the AA Center but I don’t recommend since the walk is along the FWY/busy street. It’s a cheap $22 Uber ride, anyways. - 15 mins to Dallas Love Field Airport, $33 Uber ride. - Free breakfast until 9 AM but I chose sleep so I can’t review that. They have 24hrs free coffee and tea tho. - Our room was next to the FW and I did not hear any noise Cons:- only one of the queen beds had a comforter but it wasn’t a deal breaker. I’m sure we could have asked - the fridge had an opened can from the previous guests. Again, no big deal- The AC didn’t go down to 72 during the day even of I set it to 68, but still better than the 88-90 degrees outside weather - Wish the shower head had better pressure - parking is not free but we took Uber or rode with our local friends who could easily park at the guest parking without extra cost.

Nice hotel at a good price

    rating26 Aug 2025

Stayed for two nights while in town for business. It’s nice, clean and comfortable, and very reasonably priced. There’s a nice rooftop bar with scenic city views. The free breakfast each morning is decent with some good selections. Request a room on the south side of the building. The rooms on the north face the interstate, which is very loud all night.
