Hidden Fees Galore for Very Little Amenities

Hotel has changed policies to incorporate as many extra charges and hidden fees as possible. They advertise amenities they no longer have. Breakfast is not included, they have a restaurant style bar in the lobby and you have to pay extra for service and food. Parking is $10 per night. Late check out is $10 per hour. They removed the hot tub. They renovated and it looks great, but the real reason for the renovation was to add the lobby restaurant to save them money on breakfast and to be able to charge their guests more fees. And the bathroom was disgusting. The shower wouldn’t drain, so I’m standing in four inches of lukewarm dirt water as I type this. I would not recommend this hotel.The "friendly staff" gave me a lousy room, second floor right over the pool so you could shake hands with the swimming guests that is how public this room seemed. And on the left was a big structure. My oceanfront room had no view. And there was a suspicious looking bug in the bathroom. I was offered another room higher up, to move to in the morning. The view was there!!! But the room smelled like someone had just vacuumed with an old dirty bag.. just awful. I tried to deal but after a while started just getting sick.. So I complained again to management, and they said, All we can do is move you back where you were. So I packed up yet again and moved back. That night I just was mad and the front desk lady said she'd instructed all the staff not to move me again. Oh really? Wow. That's when it dawned on me that I didn't have to spend one more minute there, and I'd just stay somewhere else. Went on to The Shores and what a wonderful, great hotel with truly friendly staff. Don't spend your money here is my takeaway. The staff did not look happy. Most our the encounter with the employees seems to be on the defensive side. Breakfast has a big breakdown. The 2 waitresses did every thing they could to handle the volume of customers. They seems to be very short of staff. We will not recommend and we will never come back. Great experience from beginning to end especially Brittny in the breakfast dining room! She was friendly and very attentive which was very mush appreciated! The front destroyer staff were also friendly and accommodating for both check-in and check-out. The room was quite comfortable and very clean offering a great oceanfront view. For a quick overnight stay I was not able to take advantage of other amenities the hotel has to offer. Parking was a breeze but included a $10/ day fee for non-gated access which seems to becoming more frequent at both Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inn properties I've stayed at. Despite this, I defiantly recommend staying at this property! Garden Grill and Bar

My wife and I visited the Garden Grill and Bar for breakfast this morning. The atmosphere was sunny and relaxed. We were greeted by our server, Brittany, who quickly brought us coffee and took our order. Our two eggs special with potatoes, toast (bagel), turkey sausage and orange juice was hot and tasty. Brittany was very pleasant and checked on us for anything we might need. This is a nice spot to have a good, simple breakfast.
