Nice option close to the NYC area for a fraction of NYC price

Stayed here for 4 nights during business trip to NYC area. Hotel is located just few minutes from train station, and train takes an hour to Penn Station, so its quite doable. Upon arrival to the hotel we received upgrade to Executive Suite 203, which was nice surprise, and suite was very lovely and peaceful. All staff in hotel was very friendly, breakfast was good quality (we always opted for menu choices). There are many events at the hotel, and sometimes this is a bit disrupting (noise), but nothing too terrible.

Outstanding experience during my recent business trip. The staff truly goes out of their way to ensure their guests are comfortable and informed. Terry at the front desk was friendly and top-notch offering a solution to a special request.I will absolutely be recommending this property to my colleagues."

    frustrating stay.

I checked into the Hyatt Regency yesterday. I'm in town for my daughter's Rutgers graduation. The hotel has some great qualities. The location is in the center of an adorable part of the campus. There are lots of amazing restaurants and beautiful buildings surrounding the property. Also, I ordered room service today for breakfast and it was really good. The cons: I booked an Ex suite with a city view. I did lots of research and viewed pictures before booking. I made sure when I booked that I would have a city/town view. When I checked in yesterday, I was taken to my room which had a direct view of the parking lot. The suite had two rooms and the living room had a partial view of the town if you leaned against the window and looked to the right you could see a bit of the town. I called the front desk to see why I was not given a room with the view I booked. Just calling was an ordeal. Wifi was terrible and I could not use my cell unless I was standing near the window. I attempted to use the room phone. After 3 attempts and about 20 minutes on hold I finally was able to speak to the manager. He was polite and offered to move me to a room with the view I booked. Unfortunately the room is dark with only one window instead of two like previous room and sadly the view is mostly a roof view with the town in the distance. I was too tired to complain and accepted the inferior room. When I booked my room I also booked the hotel shuttle that takes guests from the hotel to the graduation stadium. I could not find the pick up time in my phone so I called guest services to confirm time. I was again on hold for a lengthy time. I hung up and called back and again placed on a long hold. There was no music and it's hard to tell if you have been disconnected. After a bit, I hung up and again called back and finally was told I had no shuttle reservation. Thankfully the hotel booked me on a shuttle to and from the graduation. Overall my stay has been frustration. I have spend an enormous amount of time trying to fix problems the hotel caused. If you stay here, confirm and reconfirm your room requirements and get it in writing because you will have to fight for what you booked. Also be prepared to spend an unacceptable amount of time on the phone with guest services if you need ANYTHING.

    Great location, right on campus

Went on a college tour of Rutgers with my Daughter. Location was perfect. Right on Campus, or a very close walk. There was a dance competition ending when we arrived so it was noisy and very busy. However, once they all left it really quieted down. The room was fun. as a Globalist I was given a free breakfast which would excellent. Had I had to pay it would have been $60.00 so that feels like a real value. Staff was excellent. I do want to point out one very classy service they offered. They have complimentary copies of the New York Times on the desk which was a very special treat. A memorable perk these days.

Daughters dance competition was held here 4/23 to 4/25, pleasant stay, helpful staff, had balcony river view, not recommended. There are good restaurants within walking distance.
