  Run down and overpriced

  The resort needs a major remodel, and way overpriced. They need to put some effort into bringing it into the 21st century. The bar and restaurant were closed down, and the room was very dated and cheaply decorated. We booked the “queen” room in the main building at a premium price. The room had a double bed (not a queen) and a cheap futon next to the bed making it narrow path to get around the bed. The room only had 1 nightstand and 2 plugs. The 2 plugs had extension cords running to the one nightstand, and tv/fridge/coffee maker. No place to charge phones or tablets. The 2nd floor room had a varanda, but it was shared with other guests on the floor, so it was not private. The dated bath had a pedestal sink with no room to set anything. It had a giant jacuzzi tub that was hard to get in and out of to take a shower. The room had a coffee maker, but the coffee supplied was only enough for 2 weak cups, and only powdered creamer in room. Coffee and breakfast was not available until 9 am in lobby. Coffee mate and 2% milk only, small packaged muffins, yogurt, mini bagels and toast, and single serving packaged oatmeal. No juice or fruit. The ocean view and Pool were very nice, but not worth the high price for this resort. We are an older property and we advertise as such including the moment we handed you your real key. There are 5 restuarants and/or bars walking distance or a 2 minute drive away. Also known at the time of booking. If a giant jacuzzi tub was not your style I would have moved you to a cottage, but I did not know, you did not say. We have a beautiful shared veranda on the hotel and each room has its own seating area and everyone shares the view. We offer a light continental breakfast, so anything above a coffee and a pastry was more than you expected. I hope your accomadations the rest of your travel were newer and more to your liking.

  Nice and Quaint

  This place was okay. The room was clean. The bathroom fixtures are nice. Old beautiful tile through out the building. Nice, big slider windows lead to the porch. Absolutely beautiful views. Staff was very friendly. Down to earth people.   I would NOT recommend this place. The bathroom was unacceptable and disgusting. Rusty shower head, rusty hinges, cracks and chips in the shower, plaster over a hole, rusty knobs, painted blue and red on knobs…….other problems too like AC… but the bathroom was ridiculous . I talked to the front desk the next morning…. Said I understand …. Agreed they needed maintenance… I emailed twice…I did get a return call and said we can’t help you in any way. I would never go back to this place . I did take pictures … it was over $400 for the Night …… absolutely NOT worth it . The property itself is very pretty, but not the room. When you arrived to our property I took time to show you around the property, including two room choices, you picked your room, a vintage cottage. You extended a second night, yes your weekend rate is more than your weekday rate. The bathroom is very clean as you stated on your SECOND morning. There was no issue with your AC. There is no hiding that our cottages are from the 1950s we embrace it! They are delightful! I think you may be better fit at a more modern spot, which makes no sense to me why you walked in, toured rooms and booked. It must be exhausting to be so upset over nothing.

  Would for sure stay at the Cove again

  We had a great time while staying at the Cove for 5 nights. The staff was super friendly and a good source of local information. Did have a problem in our original room and they moved us to another room right away. Enjoyed the pool and beach areas. Both rooms were spotless clean with good a/c.   Beautiful resort & relaxing stay!!

  We selected this resort based upon it's positive reviews and we were happily-satisfied. We were greeted on our arrival by friendly staff and had a wonderful stay experience. During our drive to Florida, we asked if we could arrive a day earlier and were pleasantly-welcomed to. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended an additional day just to relax and enjoy the area. We'll definitely return here on our next dive trip!
