"Prescription Medications Locked in Safe — No Effective Emergency Response"
12 Jun 2026
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience deserves to be shared.During my stay, my room safe became inaccessible and contained my prescription medications, room keys, and other personal items. I immediately sought assistance from hotel staff. What was most concerning was not the safe issue itself—problems can happen at any hotel—but the apparent lack of an effective escalation process. Staff were unable to provide a solution, the emergency contact could not be reached, and I was repeatedly told there was little or nothing that could be done.Because my prescription medications were locked inside, I became increasingly concerned about missing important doses. The situation became so serious that I contacted local law enforcement to document the incident. The responding officer documented the matter, yet I still had no clear path to resolution from the hotel. After spending hours trying different code combinations on my own, I was eventually able to open the safe myself. Had that not happened, I do not know how long I would have been without access to my medications. My biggest concern is that there appeared to be no reliable after-hours process for handling a guest emergency involving access to essential medication. I hope management reviews its procedures so future guests do not experience the same situation.I expected much better communication, escalation, and support when dealing with an issue that involved prescription medication and guest safety."The property itself was clean, the location was convenient, and several staff members were polite. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by a serious issue involving access to my prescription medications locked in the room safe."

The Tea on this place...real talk!
06 May 2026
My stay at Naya Hotel in Key West was everything I hoped for and more. This adults-only oasis strikes the perfect balance between relaxation and convenience. From the moment you arrive, there's an easy, laid-back vibe that makes it simple to unwind. One of the standout features is the pool setup—there are truly "pools for days." Whether you want a quiet dip, a more social atmosphere, or to sink into the hot tub, there's a space for every mood. The property is thoughtfully designed with plenty of comfortable spots to lounge in the sun, making it easy to spend entire days just enjoying the grounds. The location is absolutely unbeatable. Everything you need is within walking distance—shops, a grocery store, great restaurants, like Eaton Street Seafood Market, and even scooter rentals for exploring more of the island. It made getting around effortless and added so much to the overall experience. There is a natural juice bar next door that guests should also check out. What really elevates Naya, though, is the atmosphere created by the people. The guests were some of the friendliest and most welcoming I've encountered anywhere in the Florida Keys, which made the stay feel even more special. If you're looking for a relaxing, adults-only getaway with incredible amenities and a prime location, Naya Hotel is a fantastic choice. I would absolutely return. Here are a few additional points you should consider:Like in the movie Labyrinth (1986 Fantasy), you will feel a bit out of sorts finding your room. Many separate "Houses" that look the same, so it takes time to find a room. The breakfast is nice and will fill you up. The hard-boiled eggs and apple juice were my go-to options. Talk to people! So many interesting and global travelers stay here. I met my first Professional Polo Player on this visit. During this trip, I met travelers from Poland, Canada, PA, FL, Bolivia, and Dallas. I met three of my actual Birthday Twins. Honestly, I met so many lovely people who were genuinely caring and loving. Perfect strangers gifted me with a birthday cake, balloons, a birthday card, and a set of candles to blow out at Mindnight! WOW! The Staff: Mixed experiences. More pleasant than not. They must deal with many different personalities while working at Naya. Equally, they must have great patience to handle the range of experiences they encounter. Either way, each person will encounter the staff differently. My experience was different the first time I visited this hotel, but each time I stayed, I got to know the place a little better. And if you only take one thing from this review, please remember this: I felt it was important and necessary to tip the housekeeping staff. Simply because they do a really good job keeping the place clean. I definitely respect what they do and did to make my stay amazing. Arrive early, stay the day. This place will hold your luggage, and all of the pools and amenities are available to you. They have cameras everywhere and listening devices except in the rooms. This information was shared with me by Gaby, the front desk agent, when I was talking about how safe I felt here. Lorraine and Gaby were awesome! They were kind and helpful. Thank you so much! ~ See you next time! Be well

April 2026 Visit, 5 Stars
26 Apr 2026
LOCATION: Less than a 10 minute ride by car from the airport, NYAH is located less than a half mile walking distance to Duval Street with all the bars, restaurants, shops and attractions and also nearly a half mile to the sea port where you can head out on a boat for a snorkeling adventure, day cruise or a sunset sail. UBER/ LYFTS work well and you can also rent a golf cart, moped/scooters or bicycles.ATMOSPHERE: The property boosts lodging for about 150 guests. While many college students choose to stay here, anyone would feel welcome. The size of NYAH feels very appropriate with buildings spread out and adjacent pool decks.ROOMS: There several types of rooms, including dormitory style bunk bed rooms of various sizes. Access to property (late hours), room doors, and individual lockers (large enough for a checked bag AND a carry-on bag to fit securely) are accessed by a RFID key card provided at check-in. Each room features ensuite bathroom with toilet, pedestal sink, and glass shower enclosure. Each bed has 2 power outlets (5-15 North American Standard) and a reading light. Two fluffy pillows (non-foam) per person and a thick comforter are provided (and appreciated with air conditioner running). Hot water in the bathrooms is in good supply with on-demand water heaters. Each room has a refrigerator for use and a T.V. on a wall that may or may not be viewable for all occupants in the dorm rooms.VALUE: In my opinion the value for the price paid for an island vacation is good. Please read further to “amenities” to learn my opinion of how I think it could be an excellent value.CLEANLINESS: This is my second visit to NYAH and during both visits the property overall and the rooms I’ve stayed in have been clean and maintained very well. Rooms are serviced upon request or after another dorm room occupant checks out.NOISE LEVEL: Of-course each room has air conditioning. This helps to buffer any room noise from other dorm occupants. Beyond that, after breakfast and throughout the afternoon it is common to see less than 15 people spread out on the lounge chairs, 3 pools and hot tub area and you will enjoy a quiet leisurely day should stay on property. While subtle music is played outside near the breakfast deck and adjacent to the hot tub area, occasionally people bring Bluetooth speakers to play their own music, but are generally respectful for volume requests. NOTE: That all changes between 1 A.M. and 3 A.M. When the college age individuals come back from enjoying libations on or around Duvall Street with the intent to use the hot tub and play music (sometimes loudly) and frequently speaking loudly. Now the pool area is normally closed by then but they do make exceptions for smaller groups to use the hot tub and play music at a more personal level. Front desk staff will address volume issues as they arise.SERVICE: The Check-in process is very easy. Reminder that there is a daily amenity fee assessed per room which is further broken down to per person for the rooms. This fee will be collected at check-in. No further security deposit is collected as of the writing of this review. A map of the property is given so that you may self-navigate to your room. As mentioned earlier, room servicing is available upon request.SERVICE ROCK STARS: I had an issue with my reservation that the person at check-in declined to address. Night Audit Front Desk Staff member Jesse was able to resolve the matter very quickly. BOTH Night Audit Front Desk Staff members Jesse and Akeem addressed late night “volume” issues appropriately. I did not get their names, but the breakfast staff did a great job of keeping breakfast elements stocked, organized and clean.AMENITIES: NYAH has many amenities. This list is in no particular order:Complementary WIFI is available property wide and works very well.Pool towels are provided, sometimes found on poolside lounge chairs, but always available from the front desk.Complementary Starbucks coffee, decaf and hot cocoa available 24 hours a day.Complementary bar soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion are provided in small quantity (more from front desk). These products are nothing special. Consider bringing or purchasing (locally) liquid body wash – do you want your soap sitting in the dish where everyone else’s was???Lockers – as mentioned earlier large lockers are provided – think tall school or gym locker with the shoe area on the bottom, middle area where two pieces of luggage could fit (but also was a hang bar with 2 hangers) and 2 shelves above that.Outdoor area: 3 pools of varied sizes and temperatures and 1 hot tub. The pools are great. The hot tub is in POOR CONDITION (same condition as it was just over 5 years ago). The aeration (bubble jets) are only active on 1 of the 4 sides of the hot tub and even then, not as active as you would like it. There are NO forced water jets active anywhere within the hot tub – so there is no therapeutic massage factor. Basically, to use the hot tub means you are just sitting around in hot water - with the “sound” of bubbles, but it is still something when your feet ache from walking all day. There are of lounge chairs near each pool (which is adjacent to each building). There are patio umbrellas for some shade. Also, on the pool deck you’ll find 2 rinse-off showers and access to a bathroom (toilet, sink and shower) from the outside of one of the buildings. Ice is available from the ice machine near one of the pools.Hot and cold filtered water is available on the breakfast deck 24 hours a day.NYAH does have a small bar to purchase soft drinks and cocktails and features happy hour from 4:20 P.M. to 5:20 P.M. with $ 1 off drinks.Breakfast is provided from 8 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. and features toasted options of bagels and sliced bread, varied pastry and muffins, hard boiled eggs, 2 cold cereal choices, instant oatmeal, bananas, yogurt, non-dairy milk, 2% milk, apple juice, orange juice and spreads of butter, jelly, cream cheese and peanut butter. Of-course coffee and hot cocoa are always offered.AMENITY SUMMARY: For the price you pay there is a lot you get. With attention to just a couple things it could be a very top-notch experience. I would like to see the hot tub fully working and it would be great to have shower gel available in dispensers in all showers.CORRECTIVE ACTION NEEDED: There is no hand soap available in the bathroom for the pool deck access EVER. This is gross. People who use the restroom should be able to wash their hand with soap and water without bringing their own soap to the pool area. I don’t care how you have to lock it down so it is not stolen, it needs to be available.KEY WEST DO’S AND DON’TSDo bring enough sunscreen to apply multiple times a day.Do remember the amenity fee.Do bring flip flops or sandals. The red brick on the outdoor common areas of the property will be too hot for your feet.Do be respectful for others traveling and also enjoying NYAH. Keep the volume of your voice and speakers appropriate in the company of others.Do try to keep the bathroom tidy for yourself and others.Do research somethings to experience before getting to the island. I recommend KEY TV (I have no affiliation). It is a 24/7 information source on local T.V. but also available to stream from here: https://wcay.floridakeystv.tv/Don’t place your items all over the room. Use lockers and under bed areas. (Nobody needs to trip at 2 A.M.)Don’t drink too much without supplemental hydration.ABOUT ME:I’m just a single guy in my 50’s who discovered Key West 23 years ago and wish I never left.I’ve got a set of must do’s on every visit of mine. The staff, the pools, the “adults” environment… it’s my second time staying there and it will be always my place to stay. It is close to everything! The zachary beach is only 30 minutes away walking and Douval main avenue is few blocks away. Love it! And the breakfast, the rooms… love it!
