  The Best on Key West

  We just returned from our third stay at Southernmost House and are already planning our next trip back. Prior to our first stay at Southernmost House we’d stayed at some very nice hotels/ resorts in Key West. However, from this point forward, Southernmost will be the only place we stay. The location is excellent. Steps from Duval, but far enough that you’re not in the thick of it. The staff, especially Dean, are so accommodating, friendly and professional. They go out of their way to make sure your stay is special and your needs are met. In addition, the grounds are beautiful. The pool is well maintained, immaculate and tranquil. And the best is the restaurant and bar. You truly do not need to leave the hotel. The food is excellent and the drinks are spectacular. They are known for their lobster pizza and you hear people all over town talking about it. Southernmost House is truly a special place. We highly recommend it if you are traveling to Key West.

  Would most certainly stay again

  I would highly recommend this hotel/mansion to anyone interested in vacationing in Key West. The room was beautiful, but the 54+/- stairs up to the third floor was tiring at times. The staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast was more than adequate (the lobster benedict was superb). That being said, there was only one chair positioned for TV viewing which was inconvenient in the evenings. I would recommend reserving a different room for this reason. Also, the shower door hadn't been cleaned prior to our arrival, nor was it cleaned during our stay. The room was picked up and the beds were made everyday without fail.   I love this hotel and the location. It was our second time staying here. First time we were at the adjacent house so I was excited to be in the main house this time. I love all the character, staff is warm and friendly, bed was comfy, and breakfast was amazing (they were testing out a full breakfast instead of the standard continental and it was excellent). I love that housekeeping was daily, everything replaced, really nice Ahava soap and shampoo, and a pool that is rarely full. The area is a little busier with the southernmost landmark moved next door, but I barely noticed. Happy hour at the cafe was great too!We were in room 107, which faces the pool and ocean on the first floor. We got our own table on the front porch and it was all convenient to the pool, waters, etc. I will say there was a very strong mustiness from humidity. It seemed to be coming from some of the dressers which made me wonder if it recently flooded. They did have a humidifiers running and even with the smell, I’d stay in that room again in a heartbeat. Note that you cannot access streaming services from the tvs, but there is cable. I recently stayed at a couple of cheap hotels in the middle of nowhere and their tvs had streaming g options.   The staff is exceptionally friendly and professional!

  The staff!! They are all exceptional! Everyone from the front desk to the bar, waitstaff & housekeeping were very friendly and professional!!Our room was #205 Lopez house. We were disappointed not to be in the main house, but our room was recently renovated and very nice! Large wrap around porch with partial ocean/street views. A couple of room quirks they may want to address such as the safe placement. Top shelf of the closet and it hits the closet lip when opened so it can only open a couple of inches. Bathroom could use another cabinet, there is plenty of room!Room could also use another mirror as the one and only is above the sink in the bathroom.Coffee, Mini fridge & microwave are a very nice touch as well as free breakfast! Pool is awesome but the lounge chairs, not so much!!! A bit uncomfortable.Very nice stay overall and would highly recommend!!   Amazing Charm and Character, can use a bit of a Refresh

  The staff is amazing! The Southernmost House has such wonderful charm and character. My husband and I stayed in room 201 which is a great room with a private balcony and fabulous view of the pool and the ocean! The only reason we did not give 5 stars is because the room can use a “refresh”. The room is spacious, and the bed is really comfortable. There is a nice mini fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker, and a sitting area. We loved the charm of the bedroom, but the floor needs to be replaced (without losing the character of the room). The bathroom is small and could stand a bit of a refresher as well. However, we loved the location, the staff, and the charm of the house and the room so much that we did not let the couple of items that need updating bother us and almost didn’t even want to mention them.
