  Poor front desk experience

  The place itself is cute but the man at the front desk made me give it 2 stars. We had 3 nights booked in the 2 bedroom cottage and then added a 4th night to get in town early and booked a different room that was available. We asked upon check in that if it was possible for our cottage to be ready earlier than 3pm check in time that would be great as we would check out of first room at 11 and walk around town etc. He told my husband upon check in it probably would not be open but to check back earlier to see. So that next morning when checking out of room 1 I asked about possibility cottage could be ready before 3. He was extremely rude, said he already told my husband no and that I must have a communication problem. He said they can not make rooms a priority to clean. I said “no worries” and he replied “obviously it is a worry since you are asking a second time”. We left and came back at 3pm on the dot to find out our cottage was still getting cleaned. The last room to be cleaned we were told. So it was ready at 3:20. Very poor customer service since they knew we were in town and you could tell they had cleaned all the other rooms so this appeared to be intentional. We visit frequently and we will not stay here again.

  The front desk staff ruined our stay

  Indra (assistant manager) and a new colleague whose name I don’t remember (something starting with F) ruined our stay with their lack of professionalism, disrespectful behavior, and terrible customer service. I recognize that the rest of the staff tried to improve the experience and were very kind, but it was already too late. It’s the first time in my life that I’ve experienced such an aggressive and unpleasant situation at a hotel. I do not recommend it and would not return.The room was nice, but very small. Also, the sliding bathroom door only serves to block the view since it doesn’t close properly. In practice, it was like going to the bathroom with the door open, which made me very uncomfortable.

  Cute small hotel with a lot of charm. The girl at the front desk staff was very helpful and kind. The resort is VERY clean, and the FREE breakfast includes eggs, sausage , fruit, yogurt and muffins, toast and bagels everyday. The bike rentals are $20 a day and are so worth it. Duval Street is walking distance but if you'd rather rent a bike it's a lot of fun! You can buy alcohol from the front desk and store in your mini frig.

  It was like we stepped back in time.

  My wife & I celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary and chose 5 days/nights at the Historic Palms Hotel. We were not disappointed. It was like we stepped back in time. The hotel was originally built around 1880 and it’s like it was just build. It’s lovingly and meticulously maintained both the rooms and the exterior, it’s immaculate given its age. Of course we stayed in the Honeymoon Suite and it was amazing. From the extremely helpful staff at the front desk to the maid service to the lady working hard to feed us and the other guests in the morning was truly appreciated. It’s centrally located and we walked every morning to Duval Street for coffee at the Cuban Coffee Queen (you like coffee this place is for you). It was in walking distance to the Hemingway Mansion and many other scenic/tourist spots. And when we didn’t feel like walking we took Uber they consistently arrived any place we ordered a ride in 3 minutes at most! Since the Key West of only 4x2 rides were short and cheap. Tourist/visitor tip: do NOT rent a car or golf cart as both are very expensive and there is absolutely no place to park. Even the few place to park them overnight cost $40per night! So if you like the idea at staying at an historic motile room (quiet) hotel you have to stay here.

  Pleasant reasonably priced accomodation in an expensive resort

  Located a few blocks from downtown Key West. A pleasant well run b and b. Nice change from most bland corporate American hotels. Reasonably priced ad most Key West accomodation is absurdly over priced. Small pool which most rooms overlook. Good for families.
