    Bates Motel 2020

    rating06 Sept 2026

Pull up to the APA Woodbridge Hotel, and it looks like a 2020 version of the Bates Motel. Not entirely creepy, but creepy enough. The shingles on the outside are in various stages of being replaced by plywood. Some have been replaced. It does, however, have a gazebo as you enter, as if that’s really adding curb appeal.I should have known when we pulled into the parking lot and it was not crowded that this was not a hotel I would typically stay at.We get inside, and the lobby isn’t bad, but there’s an old white guy playing the guitar and singing songs I’ve never heard of. I’m not really sure what the theme is. It’s supposed to be a Japanese hotel, but they’re going to have Bollywood one night, and then there’s a white man singing folk songs. Okay.We get in the elevator, and it’s very narrow and dirty inside. We get to the first room, and it has double beds, which is not what he ordered or reserved. So, back downstairs we go. After a few minutes, he was able to get another room. This room isn’t as bad, but we walk in, and right in the bedroom area, there are pills on the floor. Gosh, what were they cleaning? I’ve never been to a hotel that doesn’t have paper cups for the coffee. The coffee cup they did have was dirty, so we went down to the bar and got glasses. We figured they clean those routinely when they’re making drinks. So now we’re in the room stocking up on Lysol and wiping things down with Pledge and Fabuloso, basically cleaning the entire room ourselves, which defeats the purpose of staying in a hotel, right? It’s supposed to already be clean! Then there’s the door. When all the lights are off and you look toward the hallway, you can literally see light coming through the spacing around the door. I didn’t believe it at first, but absolutely any kind of critter could come in.The bed is one of the cheapest beds you could ever sleep on. The minute one person moves, the whole bed moves. We wound up having to buy new sheets because we refused to lie on the ones that were there. That says A LOT.And then nighttime comes. Apparently, the walls are made of paper because you can hear EVERYTHING. You can hear every conversation and every bit of activity happening in the hallway as if the people are standing right there in the room with you. And whoever is staying above us? Same thing. Every footstep, every movement. It literally feels like these people are in the room with us. So, between the hallway, the room upstairs, and the bed moving every time somebody breathes, apparently sleep is just not part of the APA Woodbridge experience. The lampshades are discolored. The carpet looks gross. I’m walking around with shoes on at all times. Even in the shower, I am wearing my shower shoes. I really don’t want to touch anything.I’m trying to be in good spirits and be a good sport, but this is absolutely one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. I told my friend, “I am a Hilton-chain, Marriott-chain girl. Do NOT ever do this again, or you’ll be staying by yourself.”

    Too many with cancelled reservation???

    rating04 Jul 2026

After booking my hotel stay for July 4 to 5 through Priceline.com, I felt secure with my confirmation email arriving on June 20, detailing every aspect of my reservation and assuring me all was set. Yet, when I walked into the hotel today, ready to check in, I was met with utter confusion and disappointment—the staff informed me my booking had been cancelled due to a third-party vendor overbooking their allotment. Instead of a warm welcome, I was handed a phone number unrelated to Priceline and sent off to solve a mystery I hadn’t signed up for. The number is 1407-401-9366. When I called this number, the representative claimed my reservation was cancelled way back on April 9th and, astonishingly, labeled it non-refundable. This made absolutely no sense, especially since I’d never cancelled my booking, and my confirmation clearly stated I’d be eligible for a full refund if I cancelled by June 30th. The fact that Priceline sent me a confirmation as recently as June 20 only deepened the puzzle—my reservation was supposed to be valid and active. It wasn’t just me; there is recent pattern here with this hotel. Several guests have recently posted google reviews with the same “reservation cancelled” story exactly like mine when booking this hotel. They all received a phone number to call. I then called Priceline directly and they advised me the reservation is active. I called the hotel and they said it was cancelled. The hotel won’t give me the cancellation date.Priceline’s response added further frustration—they claimed they couldn’t issue a refund without confirmation from the third party, which I never knowingly engaged with. My trust and business were placed with Priceline, and their failure to deliver deserves accountability. I am unequivocally entitled to a full refund. To support my claim, I’ve attached my confirmation and included screenshots of reviews from other guests who have endured the same ordeal—reservations cancelled without warning, and instructions to contact obscure third-party vendors. This widespread issue feels more like a scam than a simple oversight.

    Disappointing

    rating19 Jun 2026

We did not expect to be woken up at 7 am Saturday morning by loud noises from the next door room. It was going through renovation and the smell of the oil based paint was nauseating. We were hoping to share the feedback with someone at the front desk. After waiting for 30 min for someone to show up we just gave up and left. Not what you’d expect from a $300 a night hotel ??

    Sheisty

Drove 8 hours to our APA Hotel today. At check-in, they said that they’d actually CANCELED our reservation five days ago due to them being overbooked. However, we received a confirmation email just yesterday(!) and certainly did not receive any notification of cancellation. Interestingly, I can look on their website now and see rooms available for tonight at 3x the price we’d paid. ????
