    I do not recommend this Holiday Inn, go to another on in the area.

    We booked here for two nights before our cruise. The first night, we were awakened by a fire alarm at 4:30 am. The fire was on our floor, smoke in the hall, and we had to evacuate immediately, with many still in their pajamas. This was bad enough, but this hotel did not extend ONE THING to help us when they told us we all had to leave and find another place to stay. No phone numbers to call, no help getting our luggage once we were allowed back in. The elevators were out, so we all had to lug our luggage down wet concrete stairs. Thank goodness the firefighters were still there and helped the women and older couples with their luggage. Guess what, it gets worse! When we tried to get our money refunded for that night, the answer was NO. I have tried to talk with the reservation service, and they stated the management of this particular Holiday Inn will not refund for the night we were there.     We stayed here after having a late flight in and wanted somewhere close by before driving further south tge next day. Served its purpose!     We stayed here before going on a Caribbean Cruise to get over jetlag beforehand. Reception were always extremely helpful, inparticular Marshall, who arranged a taxi to pick us up as being from abroad, we were unable to get an Uber etc. The room was clean and the blueberry pancakes for breakfast were delicious. Thank you to the bar ladies and Eileen and the breakfast staff for a great stay. The atmosphere was friendly and the room fees reasonable. We didn’t notice any untoward noise levels. It was a 15 minute drive to the cruise port, and we were able to arrange for ‘Joe’ to take us via reception, for a low cost rate. Thanks!     The constant dripping of water in room 408 made it impossible for me to sleep, and despite my complaints, the hotel staff were unable to fix the problem.     Edwin (front desk), Aline, and Kat (bar/restaurant) were most amazing! Warm welcome and just really pleasant. When it’s employer review time, please show your appreciation for their guest service expertise. Hotel was clean. We were upgraded due to IHG status complimentary (thank you!). Now the not so good. Room (which was a complimentary upgrade, and we appreciate that for sure) smelled like mold. Quite a bit actually. The toilet should be replaced. Or at the very least use CLR to clean it.
