Location

This family-friendly hotel is located directly beside the beach in picturesque Fort Lauderdale. Within walking distance of the hotel are an array of shopping venues and restaurants. Miami International Airport can be reached in 1 hour by car.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 178 rooms located in a 5-storey main building and 3 auxiliary buildings. Guests are warmly welcomed by multilingual staff at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities available at the hotel include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and cash machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. A lift and wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Further services and facilities include room service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. A bicycle hire service provides all the necessary equipment for exploring the surrounding area. The conference room is available for conferences, lectures and meetings.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and individually adjustable heating. Most units have a sea view. All rooms are carpeted and have a double bed or a king-size bed. A safe provides secure storage for guests' personal property. Additional features include a refrigerator, a mini fridge, a microwave and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub, as well as a hairdryer. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms.

Sport

Guests can strike that perfect balance between exercise and relaxation in one of the 2 freshwater pools, which are outdoors and in part heated. There is a special swimming area for little ones as well. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. There are many ways to relax or stay active at the hotel, including cycling/mountain biking, beach volleyball, diving, a gym, aerobics and a spa. A dance club and a nightclub are also options for entertainment.

Meals

Dining facilities include a café and a bar. A number of specialities await guests in the air-conditioned, non-smoking restaurant. Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. A continental breakfast guarantees a great start to the day.

    Another great stay at Plunge! Great food, delicious drinks & cozy, clean accommodations. The beach is beautiful but what keeps us coming back is the attentive, friendly staff. So relaxing to wake and have breakfast at The Octopus, fresh ingredients, made to order. Refreshing drinks & good food at the Back Flip either on the beach or in the open air lounge.Every single staff member we encountered went out their way to make us feel welcome.I wish I were better with names but there are 2 people that I have to acknowledge. Gergo at Back Flip, he was so helpful & knowledgeable if we had any questions about drinks, things to do, what to eat. We enjoyed the music & karaoke nightsAlso Cynthia at Octopus. She always started our day out right with her sparkle! Special shout to beach service!It seems like the hospitality at The Plunge puts guests in a good mood, because I saw so many smiling faces. Many guests we spoke to told us this is their “go-to” beach destination. We can’t wait to get back.

    Excellent resort right by the beach. Plunge has excellent amenities - free bikes to cruise around the area - two different pools right next to the beach. The rooms are a little older in the bungalows where we stayed - but excellent in that you can be at the beach with a short walk less than 100 ft from the pool located directly outside our bungalow. The Backflip bar and lounge, adjacent to the pool, has many friendly people working there. Gergo, in particular was a standout ! Super friendly bar tender there. Great spot for a late lunch. Plunge is also less than a half mile from downtown-very easily walkable each night for dinner. We had a very good stay. Would recommend.

    Unfortunately, we won’t stay there again. We booked a bungalow with a kitchen. Do not book this. Kinda feels like a cheap hotel. Our room smelled like mold/mildew. Our bedsheets were damp throughout our entire stay and everything we hung on the little area that had hangers also got damp and smelly. The hot water never stayed hot. At the end of the day, we wanted to enjoy a hot relaxing shower and called this in twice. They unfortunately told us that’s as hot as it goes. We went to the cafe once but customer service was awful. We used the bikes but one broke down and had to fix it on the side of the road. Also they were rusted and the handle bars were so sticky they made our hands black. We spent over $2,000 for 3.5 nights. Someone recommended us to stay here and wished we didn’t. I normally don’t write bad reviews and I’m not super picky but for the price we paid, I wished I had read something like this prior to booking. The only plus was that it was so close to the beach which my daughter and I enjoyed everyday. We made the best of it, but it was not the mother/daughter trip we had envisioned.

    Awful! Luxury resort prices for a room that was…also awful. Misleading advertising about “ocean view,” also the bungalow rooms are not an upgrade, more like a major downgrade. Disgraceful for the price. Be careful what you get, you could stay at any of the newer luxury properties for this. The staff doesn’t seem to care, they are too busy to deal with any issues. Owners by Private Equity it appears, so they REALLY don’t care and General Manager nowhere to be found. They didn’t address the issues at all. Avoid and go to one of the newer hotels.
