Good place for the family
16 Mar 2026
We took our grandkids for a few days during spring break, specifically for the Moody Gardens attractions. The hotel was clean, quiet, and the best spot if you're in town for the attractions. It is very family friendly. Everyone we encountered on the staff was great. They were very pleasant and always willing to help.We had lunch at the cafe, ordered room service for breakfast, and stopped downstairs for Starbucks. The food wasn't our favorite. For our second night's dinner, we left and went to a restaurant. The rooms weren't terribly expensive. You also get a discount when purchasing the Moody Gardens day pass through the hotel. (I think maybe half off.) The day pass applies to everything from movies to the rope course. There is also a playground for young kids on the property. The shower wasn't the best. The water pressure was a little low and the tub was slow to drain.Restaurants and shower aside, the next time we go to Galveston for the Moody Gardens attractions, we'll definitely stay here. Amazing Service
25 Feb 2026
I stayed for a week for a business trip the rooms, attractions, service, and SPA were absolutely amazing, the only flaw I could see was that the food was lacking in my personal preference compared to other hotel establishments. This could have been a slight pickup and can easily be changed, but for the week I was here I mostly ate out because the hotels food was not to my preference and was lacking. Double Charged
15 Feb 2026
Watch charges at checkin, just returned from a stay booked with RCI membership and was double charged for the room, not sure how that happen knowing the room was prepaid and at time of checkin the only thing discussed was the deposit, understandable and paid. The next day noticed the room charge and notified the front desk right away. They apologized and said would process a refund. Checked with front desk a second time before leaving for we still have not received refund and was told to give it a couple of days. Now back home we have received our deposit back, but still no refund on the double charge. I’m not understanding how I’m able to get deposit back within 24hrs from checkout, but not the “accidental” double charge at checkin? Steven Kalbaugh, General Manager at Moody Gardens Hotel, Spa And Convention Center, responded to this review Thank you for your review. We apologize for the inconveniences during your stay with us and we will review this with our team.
