    Fantastic and historic lodge

    Fantastic hotel and location right on the rim of Grand Canyon National Park. Staff were very helpful and the on-site restaurant was very good. We only stayed one night, but wish we had booked for longer. AC worked very well, which was appreciated. Rooms were very clean. The only concerns with this hotel are the lack of reserved parking for overnight guests and the lack of any staff to help with baggage. If you arrive in the mid-afternoon, all parking near the hotel may be full from tourists parking in the area or dining at the hotel restaurant. There are no elevators in the historic lodge, so if you have a room on the 3rd floor, there are a number of steps luggage must be carried up. While this was expected and known in advance, it would have been helpful if the hotel had staff to assist elderly patrons with luggage. We observed a number of people struggling to carry large suitcases up the stairs.

    The views were amazing. The staff were brilliant, Parking can be hard. Tracks from the hotel and well marked and so many to do, Great position to everything we wanted. Market was close by and had all the things you need to make the stay ever better. Restaurant was brilliant and the bar cosy.     Best way to enjoy your visit to the canyon! Beautiful, updated hotel on the edge of the canyon with an excellent restaurant as well. We stayed in the spacious Mary Coulter suite and were able to watch the sunset and sunrise from our lovely balcony. Walt Esquivel, at the front desk, provided excellent customer service that is hard to find today! Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant was fine dining with very professional service.     This is one of my top five hotels in the world. Everything is quality and it drips with history. You can watch the sunrise and set over the Grand Canyon from the rocking chairs on the porch.     We had a great stay at El Tovar and greatly enjoyed our dinner onsite. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and made me feel safe dining there with my severe gluten allergy.
