  Only stayed one night but would not have wanted to stay any more. Room was OK and quiet and clean. Location was good for Canyon de Chelly which we wanted to visit. The hotel is a little away from the town so we ate at the cafeteria - not good. Like a canteen - queuing and mediocre food. Decided not to have breakfast there so drove into town and went to Denny's. We had high hopes of this hotel so were disappointed.

  Thunderbirds Are Go to Canyon De Chelly. The hotelWas fantastic and good food at the cafe and the area was lovely too and will come back again in the future.

  Thunderbird Lodge has all you need when you visit Canyon De Chelly or Tseyi on the Navajo Nation.

  This is home for me on the Navajo Nation and we have been staying at the Thunderbird lodge for years. It is a beautiful campus with well kept rooms and there is a restaurant onsite that serves traditional Navajo foods like blue corn pancakes and Navajo tacos. It also has a trading post store with local Navajo jewelry. You can also book tours to travel down Canyon de Chelly. I will always return to stay there. Staff is professional and friendly too.   Nice, simple, quiet and clean. Easy access by a tail to the canyon de Chelly visitor Center. No road noise and staff for pleasant. support the local Navajo Nation while staying in Chenli rather than chain hotels
