Pools - great, other stuff misleading

The outside of the place is great! The room, not as much. Yes, spacious and clean, but it’s unfortunate they don’t show you the real rooms online. Old and outdated- not terrible, but definitely disappointing after all the pictures online. Beds are very uncomfortable too! James Farquhar, Guest Services / Front Office at Aston Kaanapali Shores, responded to this review Aloha Melissa, we truly appreciate you offering this feedback from your recent stay with us. It’s unfortunate your escape to paradise fell short of your expectations. It has always been our goal for all guests to experience superb hospitality and tranquil stays. While we're happy to see that you enjoyed all of our resort amenities along with our beautifully landscaped courtyard, we’re disappointed to hear that you're not satisfied with your ocean view accommodations. Please know that our Guest Services team is here and available to assist you with alternate accommodation so you can be more comfortable. Mahalo and warmest aloha.James FarquharRooms Division Manager

Overall, we had a wonderful experience. From check-in to checking out. Though it was a really short stay, our family and I enjoyed every second of it. The pool was perfect for us and the kids. The only thing thays needed more is shade/umbrellas. Other than that, our daughter had an amazing 7th birthday. Thank you for the chocolates and the extra pillows and blankets. You also have a great selection of local retail stores on property. We look forward to our next stay with you. James Farquhar, Guest Services / Front Office at Aston Kaanapali Shores, responded to this review Aloha Ivy and mahalo nui loa (thank you very much) for taking the time to further share your recent staycation experience with us. We are truly delighted that you and you ohana allowed us to be part of your daughter's special birthday celebration and Hau'oli lā hānau (Happy Birthday) to her. We hope to have another opportunity to welcome you back with us again very soon. Mahalo and warmest aloha.James FarquharRooms Division Manager

Unit #704, overall very good
26 Mar 2026
We had a two-bedroom ocean view and it worked out great. Our kids had their own space, my wife and I had our own space, and the living area had a pullout, a recliner, and table so it was large enough for all of us to hang out and not be on top of each other. The view was great as well. While the unit was a little dated, it looked and felt clean--there was not musty smell that some other reviews mention. Our only issue is the kitchen was the least equipped of any place we've stayed. Basic cooking equipment was not stocked. No salt or pepper, one small spatula, one small skillet, no baking pans, etc. It's nice the unit had a full kitchen, but we really had to improvise. The resort's two pools were nice because the one closest to the beach was not crowded. From that pool, you can walk up to the bar at the restaurant and grab a drink. The resort grounds were nice and well-maintained. The location is great! The food truck park is a short walk around the corner; the supermarket a short walk across the street; urgent care (unfortunately we had to visit it) is a short walk across the street; and, Duke's is a short walk down the beach. The beach at the resort is fairly narrow and there are rocks here and there in the water, but better beaches are a short walk away. Parking was easy, whether it was in the lot or in the garage. It would be nice to have luggage carts at the entrances to help with getting groceries to the units, but not a big deal. James Farquhar, Guest Services / Front Office at Aston Kaanapali Shores, responded to this review Aloha Ringo0 and thank you kindly for taking the time to share your review with us. It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your spacious 2-bedroom ocean view accommodations and the amazing ocean views to go with. We're delighted to see that our convenient and ideal north Ka'anapali location walking distance to shopping and local dining venues served you and your ohana well. We hope to have another opportunity to welcome you back with us again soon. Mahalo and warmest aloha.James FarquharRooms Division Manager

Great resort with access to everything local.

It is a great hotel and a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are big and have a great view of the courtyard. The staff is wonderful. If you are comparing resorts and prices, you do need to factor in the age of any renovations. The 2 rooms we had were damp and musty-smelling. Maybe time for some new carpet and a deodorizing of the air conditioning system. James Farquhar, Guest Services / Front Office at Aston Kaanapali Shores, responded to this review Aloha Carl, mahalo for taking the time to share your review with us and we're truly happy to hear that you enjoyed your spacious accommodations with views of our beautifully landscaped garden courtyard to go with. We hope to be able to welcome you and your ohana back with us again soon. Mahalo and warmest aloha.James FarquharRooms Division Manager
