Kapiolani Park lies in front of the family-friendly beach hotel and is recognised as one of Hawaii's finest recreational parks. Strolling out of the hotel away from the park, guests will come across the broad stretch of Kalakaua Avenue, the heartbeat of Waikiki. Kalakaua Avenue's main attractions are hundreds of shops. Honolulu Zoo is also only 1 minute away on foot and it is a 15-minute walk to the International Marketplace and 30 minutes on foot to the Diamond Head Crater. Waikiki Beach is just a 1-minute walk from the historical hotel.

Facility

The hotel has 15 junior suites, 2 suites, 87 single rooms and 211 double rooms, which are located on 19 storeys and are reachable by lift. Multilingual staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities available at the hotel include a baggage storage service, a safe and a cash machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Additional facilities include a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park. Further services and facilities include medical assistance, room service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. A bicycle hire service provides all the necessary equipment for exploring the surrounding area. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed or a king-size bed. Valuables can be securely stored in a safe. There is a fully-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, mini fridge, microwave and tea/coffee station. Further amenities include an ironing set and a trouser press. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi (for a fee) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Bathrooms include a hairdryer and are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

The outdoor pool complex provides invigorating refreshment. Comfortable sun loungers are available on the terrace. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. The wide range of activities offered at the hotel ensures that there is something new to do every day, including cycling/mountain biking, tennis, golf, fishing and horse riding. With jet skiing, canoeing, snorkelling and diving available, fans of water sports will have plenty to choose from. Guests can enjoy a wide range of indoor sports, including a gym, bowling, yoga, callisthenics and aerobics. A spa and solarium are available in the wellness area. Activity coordinators organise an entertainment programme for adults and children.

Meals

Dining facilities include a non-smoking restaurant, a dining room, a café and a bar. A delicious breakfast is an excellent reason to rise and shine. At lunch and dinner, guests can order dishes à la carte or choose a set menu. Staff are also happy to provide children's meals.

    This is a cute hotel with a great location next to the park. Friendly coffee shop downstairs had perfect lattes and chocolate croissants.     The room was nice with no frills. The View to the park was awesome. They gave me an upgrade. There is a little bit of road noise but not enough to ruin my stay. Would stay there again.     Excellent service, superb location, the bus stop is right in front of the hotel, many restaurants nearby, the best restaurants just across the street, the cleaning staff was very friendly and did a great job.     Overall, my wife and I were throughly pleased and impressive with our experience at Queen Kapi’olani. The location o of the hotel is at the end of the Waikiki strip making it more quiet and calm but still only a really short walk to the beach, cafes, and restaurants. Everything from check in at the front desk to check out went smoothly and we couldn’t compliment the staff enough. The front desk was friendly and attentive. Guest and room services were welcoming and always willing to help. The valets made leaving the hotel and parking quick and hassle-free. The hotel offers guests beach towels and beach chair at no cost which we used everyday. The cafe in the lobby is a convenient luxury. The surf shop in the lobby offers surf lessons among other things at a really good price for guest which was a cool experience. The Deck restaurant was great for breakfast and dinner. My wife and I didn’t have any high expectations initially but left the hotel feeling like we found a hidden gem and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Waikiki.
