    Disappointing Experience

    My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Granduca to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Overall, it did not meet our expectations of a luxury stay and experience. The rooms are outdated, but clean. The staff is friendly, but not very well trained and impersonal. The exterior and first floor of the hotel are beautiful and have the power to transport you. The service brings you right back down to earth. We wanted to enjoy our stay, but numerous issues along the way left much to be desired. The hotel restaurant, Remi, has good food, but the service is slow and disjointed. It felt like it was their first weekend being open. We would love to return to the Granduca if these issues are resolved. Until then, there are too many excellent hotels and restaurants in Houston to waste our time and money at this establishment.     Always a fun stay at the Granduca Hotel with easy access to shopping, dining, Memorial Park, all things Galleria District, Post Oak Blvd, etc. Friendly staff, hip/fun old world European vibe meets a little bit of gaudiness and a little bit of Texas hospitality. Always good people watching at the bar and outdoor patio area. We will continue to stay at the Granduca when we come to Houston.
