Location

This popular hotel is located near the Reliant Astrodome stadium, the Reliant Park (backgate access) and the Astroworld theme park. Downtown Houston is about 13 km from the hotel. The Metro Light Rail is about 1.5 km away and offers good transport links.

Facility

The hotel welcomes guests in an 11-storey building with a lift and 235 rooms. Guests are warmly welcomed by English-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The hotel offers a number of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops, including a souvenir shop. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand, a TV room and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a babysitting service, a car hire service, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. All rooms are carpeted and have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a mini fridge, a microwave and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. The daily newspaper is laid out for guests in the the rooms. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub, as well as a hairdryer. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The hotel has non-smoking rooms and smoking rooms.

Sport

The indoor and outdoor pools are ideal for exercise as well as relaxation. Refreshing drinks at the pool bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub offer the perfect way to unwind. The sun loungers are perfect for soaking up some sun. There are many ways to relax or stay active at the hotel, including golf, a gym and a spa. Activity coordinators organise an entertainment programme for adults and children.

Meals

The dining area includes a bar. A number of specialities await guests in the air-conditioned, non-smoking restaurant. A generous breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner offer plenty of delicious variety. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options.

    JUST GO SLEEP UNDER THE FREEWAY, AND SAVE YOUR MONEY! UNETHICAL CROOKS!

    There should be a negative 1000 stars for this place. Just know that the management here are the most inconsiderate, unprofessional people you will ever meet. I will never stay at this hotel again. The treatment and disrespect were appalling. My father-in-laws surgery was postponed but we didn't get word till 4am the morning of us heading down to Houston. I spoke with a lady at the desk over the phone that was nice and professional and she assured me that she would make things right and help me with rescheduling. Then I hear her say hold on, when she returns she says her manager now is requesting documentation that your father in law was really having a surgery and that it was cancelled or you will be charged for your entire stay regardless if you can make it or not. First off we booked the Holiday Inn Medical Center, so I'm sure a very large amount of people that book here have family in the hospital. I emailed him and told him my mother in law was 70 years old, stressed out and not tech savvy, and I would not be asking her to share her private information with me to give him. I then called customer service and told them what had happened and they apologized for his ridiculous behavior, and told me Mr. Winfield you are a valued Elite member and we want to make this right. She then reschedules us for the following Monday and Tuesday for the new surgery dates. Do you want to know what the Holiday Inn NRG supervisor chose to do after this? He saw the change, went in without my permission and re-booked the room and increased my rate from $500 to $800 dollars for two days.I received no phone call or email to notify me of the change, and he did it close to check -in so that I would be charged both days. If I had not went back on, me, my wife, my 70 yr old mother in law, 80 yr old father in law that battling are hard sickness right now would have shown up next Monday and Tuesday; and not even had a room booked or a place to stay. Like who the hell does something like that? #1 Once the lady at the desk said it was fine and she would make the changes with no fee, there should have been no further discussions. I remember a time when you said something, and you stood on it. If something in my email upset him, or I came off as a guy that would fabricate a story about a sick father in law, why not do what most decent supervisors well trained in the field of hospitality would have done and either emailed or called me back? He made 0 attempts to rectify or contact me. This guy is freaking out of control and making decisions based on emotions and not rationale, and has NO business in a managerial position. I reported to customer relations and they put me on hold for 20 minutes and basically told me the manager can do whatever wants and get away with so just pay the new higher amount even though you are basically a victim of credit card fraud because this man made an un-authorized charge to your account out of spite when he saw that the customer service rep had rectified things with me. This manager is a harsh, unmerciful crook. I have had 24 stays in the past year, and literally was just in his hotel a few days ago, only to be treated like a piece s***t today. Highly displeased. DONOT STAY HERE , THEY WILL TREAT YOU LIKE A LIAR IF YOU HAVE TO CANCEL, AND MAKE UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES TO YOUR CARD!!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. PS: Scroll down to Anita Rodriguez review, and you'll see that after she stood up for her mistreatment that her rate was bumped up and she ended up with unexpected charges in retaliation same as me. All these complaints, all they do is reply with same generic sorry for your displeasure but you're just another # to us , so f**k off basically. Potential customers DONOT book here!!!!!!     Roaches!

    Roaches climbed out of the a/c unit ! I knew I was in trouble when I pulled up and the neon signs were all half lit.The parking lot was closed off and the restaurant was also closed. The employees all try hard, but this place is a dump. Stay away. It’s close to NRG Stadium but it’s not worth it to stay here. I’ll be burning all I brought here for fear of roaches and God knows what else. 20 years of traveling and I worry about bringing bugs home. ABSOLUTE DUMP.     Service is horrible!!! I got charged $140+ for a room I reserved specifically chose a king upgraded room with free cancelation so when my wife got sick I canceled days in advance and spoke to a gentleman who confirmed my cancelation and NEVER said I am going to be charged! If that was the case I would of gone by myself or gave the reservation to a friend who was going to the same event! They trick you and charged me! Money hungry! Never will I stay here again and will tell my car club not to reserve rooms here unless I'm refunded!     Moldy room, hairy breakfast

    I was put in room 909 that had a horrible musty smell and black mold in the AC they attempted to cover up with Febreeze. I was told there were no more rooms but when I explained there was black mold around other guests they quickly found me a new room. The second room 401 shower had mold splotches on the ceiling. My fruit at breakfast had a hair in it and the restaurant staff had an attitude and talked down to the other staff. All for a one night $352 bill. I DO NOT RECCOMENND.     Warning to MDAnderson’s patients

    I booked my stay through MDA’ agency - they didn’t tell me that shuttle quit running at 3pm and if you returned by UBER they won’t reimburse you as stated if after 9:00pm. I’m trying Marriott next time. Shuttle runs late and staff have to be nicer!
