  After flying around Texas and the Gulf avoiding storms to get to our destination, I missed my connection by hours and wanted something close and reasonably priced so I could get out early the next day. The Wyndham LaQuinta at Houston Airport looked mighty good at 12 am. Was it new and plush? No. Was it clean and comfortable, absolutely. Only complaint was the cold shower at 5am but maybe that was a good thing considering the day I had before.

  Gross! By far the worst hotel stay ever! I didn’t even pay, and it was horrible!!

  We were sent to this hotel after a major flight disruption involving an emergency landing in Monterrey, Mexico, followed by a very late arrival into Houston. After an already stressful travel day, we selected this La Quinta because it was one of the closest hotel options available.Unfortunately, the experience was unacceptable from the moment we arrived.The entire hotel reeked of mildew as soon as we walked into the lobby. There was a visible wet spot in the lobby area, so we initially hoped the smell was isolated to that area, but it was not. The odor carried throughout the property and into the guest room. It was so overpowering that we could not stay the entire night and ended up returning to the airport.The shuttle experience was also concerning. The shuttle driver drove recklessly and nearly rear-ended another vehicle. When we arrived at the airport, she opened the shuttle door while the vehicle was still rolling. She appeared tired or not fully alert, which made the ride feel unsafe.This was far below even a basic hotel standard. After coming from an amazing stay at Corazón Cabo and a beautiful dinner at El Farallon, this was a shocking and miserable contrast. I understand this is an airport hotel, not a luxury resort, but cleanliness, safe transportation, and a room that does not smell like mildew should be non-negotiable.

  Airport shuttle was at the airport in no time. Checkin was seamless, staff very friendly. Very clean updated property. Our room was big, modern and clean! It is a great property for our overnight commutes from Canada to Belize. Great price for a great stay!

  Great value for a recently renovated hotel; shuttle service from IAH begins at 3p

  Enjoyed my one-night stay at La Quinta IAH South, particularly for the value. I ended up paying something like $70 for one night, including taxes and fees. The property was recently renovated and surpassed the comfort one would expect out of a 2.5-3-star hotel brand. Air conditioning worked well, the room was spacious and had a fridge and microwave. I was the only one on the 5:05a shuttle, which was the first of the day. Keep in mind their shuttle service from IAH to the hotel doesn't begin until the check-in time of 3pm. To go around this, I talked my way onto a Parking Spot shuttle by pretending I was having trouble logging onto an account where my Parking Spot "reservation" was and gave ambiguous answers to the driver's questions. The driver had already pulled away from the pick-up, and eventually dropped me off at The Parking Spot, where I walked passed the gate and towards the La Quinta. It was a 10-minute walk. There is an IAH express bus that gets you downtown relatively quickly. Friendly and helpful agents at the front desk. Even amidst inflation, this was among the better values I've ever found for a hotel. Would stay here again.

  Room was dirty. I booked it for my lay over. The site said they had an airport shuttle, but when I checked in at the front desk the lady said they were all full. They should not advertise airport shuttle if they can't accommodate guests. They only have a small mini van to take all their guests to the airport.
