    Amazing staff, terrible odor in room and hotel, what breakfast? The front desk and maid service were awesome, too bad the hotel needs a lot of work.

    I booked a room at this La Quinta (Wyndam is the parent company) for Christmas Eve 2025 for two nights in order to be close to my family for the holidays. I really didn’t want to stay at the hotel in the first place, as it looked worn down and sketchy from the outside (nothing like the online photos). However, I had no other choice but to stay at the hotel because there were no other hotels with rooms available in the area. As soon as I went into the room, I could smell urine and mold throughout the entire room. Also, the entire room was dank and humid. I was unable to breathe in the room, so I was forced to stay with family members even though they didn’t have room for me.I complained to the hotel and Wyndam headquarters, but they refused to give me a refund.Because of this experience, I will never stay at another La Quinta or Wyndam owned hotel.

    FOUND cockroaches in the room

    We found 3 cockroaches in our room, the staff was not friendly at all, they suggested to change rooms at 12 am and we refused because it was midnight and we were very tired, so we called in the morning to notify that we have found the 3 cockroaches, they suggested that they offered a solution at 12 AM and we refussed, they threatened that if we wont leave the hotel today, 3 nigths early, they will call the police, the lady at the front desk refused to give us her name, just the Initials that were I.C.VERY VERY BAD EXPERIENCE, that is no way to treat guests like that. Please DO NOT STAY HERE.

    The La Quinta in Magnolia is shabby. The furniture fabric was torn and frayed. The shower curtain did not reach the floor. The shower spray bracket was broken. It’s generally worn. More importantly the room we got for my 96 year old Mother did not have heat. It was an unusually cold day. We reported the problem at check-in and were told there were no other rooms, but it would be fixed. We returned that night and the heat was still broken. It was an unusually cold day, the hotel did not have a space heater and stores were closed. We had to call out to friends/relatives late at night to have a space heater delivered. The next day the problem was eventually fixed. At check out I asked for an adjustment because of the inconvenience and lack of responsiveness but was refused because a manager was not available. I was told a manager would call me. Despite several follow up calls and an appeal to Wyndham, a manager never called. So I can only assume that management does not care. By the way, the desk staff was courteous and acknowledged the problems. If you stay at La Quinta and it’s a cold night, bring a heater. If you have any problems during your stay, do not assume a manager will be responsive.

    Room was clean, modern, comfortable. Breakfast was good but get there early if there are a lot of cars which means lots of folks. They started cleaning it up at 0800 hrs which is a little too early.
