Enjoyable, Confortable Short Stay

The hotel is situated on Clear Lake. It was nice and clean, and for our purposes, close to Johnson Space Center. We checked in later in the day and checked out after breakfast the next day so didn’t get a chance to completely explore the resort or walk along the lake…but they do have a nicely laid out outside pool. We decided to have dinner at the hotel and ate in the small bar area. All these locals were there for dinner so it must be good! And we weren’t disappointed. However, breakfast (cost extra) the next day was just ok with a limited selection. Since we were there in the middle of the week, presume it’s better on weekends when there are more people. Probably would have gotten better food off site somewhere. I chose this hotel based on many overwhelmingly negative reviews for name-brand hotels nearby, which was surprising. Cleanliness and safety trump price. Wish we could have stayed longer to fully enjoy our stay. Best New Year’s Eve Celebration!

What a fabulous NYE we experienced! South Shore Harbor Resort hosts an awesome extravaganza for guests from the decor to the food to the entertainment. Then after the midnight toast, you can simply stroll to your room. It was great to stay overnight in a comfortable room, then enjoy a fabulous breakfast buffet on New Year’s Day. The bed was comfortable enough, the room was spacious, and the view was decent. The stay was quiet. The bathroom had a bad odor after showering, and it lingered for hours. There was an ill-repaired crack in the shower floor. The internet service was terrible. The guest login was impossible to use, the meeting login was a bit better, but still very slow, which did not allow for work. Of course, if you were here vacationing, that would be okay, I guess, but holding a conference at a facility with such poor internet service is truly unacceptable. We had a lovely stay at South Shore. First time in Texas as a family. Staff very welcoming. Room spacious - lovely view over marina and pool. Pool area was lovely to relax at. Definitely recommend hiring a car to get about. Close to space centre. We stayed 2 nights pre cruise - would definitely stay here again. I've been here many times. Nice place, clean rooms, and the staff is always friendly. Fun pool and pool bar. Nice restaurants with good food. I wish they had a reward program with as many stays as I've had here. I recommend staying here. Always enjoy it.
