    I recently stayed at Residence Inn by Marriott Kansas City at The Legends, and I want to give special recognition to Ariel at the front desk.From the moment I arrived, Ariel greeted me as an Ambassador Elite with a warm smile that immediately set the tone for my stay. She went above and beyond by preparing a thoughtful welcome gift bag with snacks and water, along with a handwritten card, which was a very nice touch after a long day of travel.It’s the small details that make a difference, and Ariel understands what hospitality is all about. Her friendliness and attention to elite recognition is exactly the level of service that keeps me loyal to Marriott.

    Beware!I booked a stay at this hotel through Travelocity 27 days before my arrival and paid in full at the time of booking. When I checked in, the front desk asked to verify my credit card. Without my consent, they ran an additional charge of $749.09.It has now been 64 days since the overcharge and 29 days since I first contacted the General Manager. I’ve been stuck in a frustrating loop—management blames corporate, corporate says the GM must resolve it. The GM even suggested I file a credit card chargeback, which could take up to 75 days, but I initially waited, trusting the hotel to do right by its customer. That trust was misplaced.Avoid this hotel unless you’re prepared for poor communication, finger-pointing, and long delays in fixing their mistakes.     Great halfway stop between KC and Topeka with lots to do

    Hotel was great! Even better that it was walkable to Legends which is a huge outdoor mall type complex with restaurants, bars, shopping, and even a casino. Parking passes were needed so that they could keep the lot just for guests, but that was easy enough. Friendly staff and easy off the highway.     Best Well-Designed Hotel near Legends

    I've stayed at quite a few hotels around the Legends over the past five years and the Residence Inn is easily my favorite. Friendly staff, and the rooms are large, clean, and--most importantly--well designed. I feel like I stay in a lot of hotels where the focus on the rooms is to make them stylishly different at the cost of practicality. Not that the rooms aren't nice looking here; it's more that if I had to have anything from a single night to an extended stay at a hotel near the Legends, this would be it because I know it would be a COMFORTABLE stay.
