    Liftside Condos

    rating22 Feb 2026

What a dump. We paid a crazy amount of money for 3 nights at a 3 bedroom condo at the Liftside condos, via Hunter Mountain bookings/Kaatskill Mountain Club. The condo hasn’t been updated since at least the 1980s. It smelled of mildew and had no working TV. Maintenance tried but was unable to get the TV working. Hard to entertain a family with no TV and no games available in the condo. The Van Winkle restaurant in the Kaatskill Club opens at 4 (even on the weekends), so there’s no option for lunch or a mid-day cocktail/snack. You either have to drive somewhere in Hunter or fight the crowds at the base restaurants. The decor inside the Kaatskill club lobby is also outdated and is badly in need of a refresh.Hunter Mountain was much smaller than we realized — some good runs, but overall not very exciting. The only upside of the Liftside condos is the location — it is a 2 minute walk to the base/lifts.

    Presidents Day Skiing Weekend

    rating17 Feb 2026

We spent Presidents’ Day weekend at a ski resort in Hunter, New York and had a really nice stay overall, especially enjoying our time at Hunter Mountain. As expected, it was quite crowded Saturday through Monday, but Tuesday morning was wonderfully empty and made for a perfect last ski morning. Our room setup was excellent for a family. One room had a Murphy bed, kitchenette, and small couch, and the second room had a bed and another couch. Having two bathrooms was a huge plus. We especially loved the Murphy bed—it was so convenient to fold it up into the wall during the day to create more living space. The kitchenette was also incredibly useful. We were able to make breakfast and lunch and reheat leftovers for dinner, which made the trip easier and more affordable. The ski-in/ski-out location was great and made getting on and off the mountain easy. The only minor drawback my husband mentioned was that the access hill didn’t bring you quite close enough to the main skiing area, so the kids still had to shuffle their skis a bit.The outdoor amenities were very nice. There were two outdoor hot tubs and an outdoor pool. The hot tubs were great after skiing, but it was a little disappointing that the pool didn’t open until 2:00 pm. The gym was just okay—there was one treadmill and a few other machines, but not everything seemed to be working.Breakfast downstairs was convenient, and my son went every morning, but the selection was limited. One day there was cereal and muffins, and another day there were Uncrustables and oatmeal packets. We were definitely glad we had extra food in our room.Although we didn’t get to eat a full meal at the resort restaurant, we did order takeout salads one night when our son wasn’t feeling well, and they were excellent—fresh and very well prepared. We arrived on Valentine’s Day, and Annemarie at the front desk made the stay extra special. She was very festive and even had Valentine’s treats for the kids, which was such a thoughtful touch. One of the big reasons we chose this resort is that there aren’t many ski-in/ski-out resorts in the area that accept the Epic Pass, so we were happy to be able to use it here.Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay. The room layout, location, and thoughtful staff made it a great family ski weekend, and we would definitely consider returning.

Nice and centrally located, and very comfortable

    rating04 Feb 2026

We love the northern Catskills, and this location on Hunter Mountain is great. We don't ski, but we come off-season in the spring or summer or fall, when the area is beautiful and green. We have stayed here a number of times. We like the look and feel of the hotel, and the staff is friendly. This is a typical skiers hotel, with matter-of-fact rooms, but they are large and well laid-out, and the hotel offers a nice deal on a family double room. We ask for a valley view, which looks out across the small town. The one issue is the food. The restaurant has no character and the food is bad. We usually drive into Tannersville for dinner.

The most relaxing view from the top floor. We enjoy the hot spa and the food. We drove few minutes to the Main Road and enjoy local shopping stores and local food> I would go back to step out of the crowd of a city.
