  Poor example of usually good hotel chain.

  First, let me say the staff are excellent. Michelle C in particular did try hard to solve the problem I was having. Andthe common areas of the hotel are certainly up to the standard I would expect from this chain. But the assigned room was something else. I dislike through the wall A/C units, so always turn them off, as I did here. But I was kept awake during the night by a throbbing noise apparently from the fan in the bathroom. In the morning I asked for maintenance to review, and they reported it was 'behaving normally'. Take a listen to the video I recorded - if that's normal, then I imagine all rooms are just as bad. [EDIT: tripadvisor doesn't allow video uploads - look for my review on other frequent traveler sites.]Michelle tried her best to help. She only had one other room available, and she and I went to see it. This one didn't have the throbbing noise, but a different high-pitched whine. We agreed this was also objectionable, so I decided to stick with the original room. In hindsight, I should have tried to find a different hotel nearby for the remaining two nights.The TV system only worked for a few minutes at a time, then the picture broke up, and sometimes the sound went too. I only wanted to watch the news in the morning, so that wasn't a major problem for me, but might be for others - see the picture. And clearly other maintenance was not being done - see the picture of the 'repair' to the cabinet containing the fridge, where they'd just wedged some cardboard into the frame.Signs on the lamps directed guests to USB charging ports on the side of the headboard - but there were none. Instead, there were 110v outlets, which would be good if you brought your own charger, or you use a CPAP device).I will continue to choose Holiday Inn for other destinations - I haven't had these types of problems before. But I think this property needs new maintenance crews, and someone who can isolate the various noises in their guest rooms. (My room was 319 - the other room Michelle showed me was 301). I won't be going back to this location.   Terrible and disconnected management

  WAY better than I envisioned/anticipated

  I really thought I was staying at a throwback HI where it was motel style and you entered the rooms from the outside. There are 'some' rooms like that, but it really is a traditional HIE with key entry after hours, and the parking lot is well lit, so I felt really safe coming and going. There is a casino next door, and restaurants all around the property. Ice machine was easy to find on the first floor (by the front desk/entrance), and getting out of room was easy. Room was clean and lots of space. This was a great hotel to stay at if you don't want to navigate a casino to get to your room, Henderson is kinda far from the strip, but if you have a car, this will not be an issue at all. I will return to this property, staff was kind and helpful, two attendents at breakfast, whole stay went without an issue.

  When we checked in the staff seemed somewhat indifferent. I didn't get the room I had requested, but they said they were completely full. The room was decent sized and clean.The bed was big and comfortable.room lighting was goodThe room had a big TV, fridge, and microwaveThe AC worked wellThere were plenty of outlets for charging phones The bathroom was large and clean.Sleep quality was only average. It was kinda noisy with slamming doors and people above us making noise. We had to leave at 0500 so we didnt get to try the breakfast.   Welcoming, clean, friendly.

  A stop over on the way to see Hoover Dam. Initially sceptical as it was a ‘motorway/truckers service stop’ but surprised us. Warm welcome, recommended place to eat, informative of the area. Clean and well presented room (2-queen bed), spacious layout for a family of 4. Pool was clean, towels and sun beds available, shallow throughout. Breakfast was as expected and the staff were evening welcoming and helpful in this buffet. Couldn’t do enough for you. Mattresses were comfy, air con worked perfectly. A really pleasant experience for a stop over.
