I needed a affordable and safe place to stay for a week until I got settled in Vegas

    rating18 Mar 2015

When I arrived I know that is was not the best place in Vegas. I met Jose, the Manager, very nice, eager to please his guests. I never had any problems, Everyone staying there was very good people. They have security during the night. 15 minutes from the strip. Good if you need a place to stay for a couple of weeks. Can have breakfast next door at the Howard Johnsons. You can hear the jets from the naval base. It never bothered me.

After painstaking consideration, I chose to give this Value Place another chance. The new General Manager had personally promised me that the blonde, “rude,” (as per "jessica a" in this forum), front desk clerk/Assistant Manager who thoroughly insulted me over my Registered Service dog on my last visit would be dealt with appropriately. Although I was quite uneasy with the prospect of running in to this woman again, this Value Place is within close proximity to my retina specialist’s office, which makes the drive with dilated eyes much easier to get home. Plus the room includes a stove-top, kitchen sink, microwave and refrigerator where I store my Insulin along with my beer. The rental week works out to around $30 a day which is highly advantageous for my budget. As I approached the entrance to register, I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness. The parking lot was void of trash and the windows shined. I was greeted by a very friendly male front desk clerk. While he processed me and the registration for my service dog, I asked him where the "rude" blonde woman, who had always been there, might be. “She’s no longer with us, Sir,” he said. An immediate sense of renewed comfort entered my soul. The beds are small, perhaps full size, but I'm a small guy and they fit me well. The Internet is slow. The location is okay – about 2 miles from the Las Vegas Motor Speedway - having a couple stores nearby as well as a few chain restaurants. And the fighter jets that fly in and out of Nellis AFB, though very beautiful, are so loud they shake the building as they fly over, but it’s worth the trade.I went out to eat that evening at the Cannery Casino, about 3 miles up Craig Road on the left hand side. I had chicken wings and onion rings at Victory’s Café inside – some of the best I’ve ever had! When I returned to Value Place, I quickly noticed that there was a uniformed security guard monitoring the hotel. I slept well that night. The following day I observed a much friendlier staff than during my last visit. Even the housekeepers were talkative and bopping around by means of a certain gracious poise with each step. They seemed to love my big gentle service dog and he enjoyed all the attention he received. If you are traveling to Las Vegas for an extended stay and are looking for a clean, inexpensive and “off the grid” room that includes a stove-top, microwave, refrigerator and kitchen sink, you cannot go wrong by staying at this Value Place. I do not know what happened to the “rude” blonde woman who was their front desk clerk/assistant general manager, nor is it any of my business. I can assure everyone, though; the new General Manager has done an AMAZING job, within the past 3 weeks, of cleaning this place up and turning it around. In my view, it’s gone from Hotel Hell to The Love Boat minus the ocean! Sean A, Owner at Value Place - Las Vegas (Nellis AFB), responded to this review The Value Place team is glad to hear you thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us. Great Value, Clean, Safe

This hotel is near Nellis Air Force Base in North Las Vegas. Clean rooms, with kitchenettes. Staff is friendly, I stayed a week, I'd come back, doing business at the Las Vegas Speedway nearby. Thank you

    rude

    rating02 Jul 2013

the lady at the desk was rude and so was the night attendant.the beds r uncomfortable and u can smell bleach on the sheets.the microwave was dirt. the AC does not work very well.the power constantly tripped in the outlets and once the whole room went out.the towels are small and rough feeling.the internet goes in and out and they charge you $10.its not a safe place to be walking around especially at night.there are bigger and better extended stay places that are right off the strip and they are cheaper.
