  I put some funny bits into my first review of this place and it got rejected. I simply don't have the energy or the memory to redo what I wrote so instead I'm going to give it to you straight. The courtyard area with the firepit is a great way to relax at night. No cruisers, nothing. The dining area is great for both breakfast and dinner. The rooms are spacious and cozy. The spa area was a lot of fun with great couples massages! There's even a little area with artifacts and the history of the Ayres family. I know he would be proud to see his hotel still running smoothly and not fully decayed to modernity. One weird old drunk guy was hanging out at the hot tub area.

  ⸻My wife and I stayed there for four nights and were very satisfied.The location worked very well for us—depending on your travel goals, it offers easy access to nearby places. The free parking was convenient and always available. The staff were friendly, and the room was spacious and clean.The breakfast wasn’t fancy, but it was delicious and satisfying.The pool was great. I only used the gym once—it was small and basic, but adequate.Considering the price per night, everything was excellent.

  HEALTH HAZARD – UNSANITARY CONDITIONS

  Potential guests deserve to know that I was placed in a bed soaked with another person’s urine at this hotel.After checking in, my partner and I noticed a terrible odor. By the next morning, we realized it was coming from the bed. I called before leaving for the afternoon to request fresh bedding. When we returned, nothing had been done, so I called again. Later, someone finally came to change the bedding, but the smell was still overwhelming.I checked under the sheets and found a large yellow urine stain on the mattress. When I reported it, we waited again until a staff member came, took a photo, and admitted it must have been there for a while. Housekeeping had not noticed this before my stay, nor after changing the bedding which is an inexcusable oversight. We were told the room would be “deep cleaned.” WHY ARE THE BEDS NOT INSPECTED AND CLEANED BETWEEN GUESTS?I ended up spending nearly two full days of my anniversary trip stuck in a contaminated room, with my pajamas and personal items ruined by sleeping in that filthy bed. The scent leeched into them. Yes, we were eventually moved to another room, but only after waiting and having spent the day trying to figure out the issue. A new room was the bare minimum. No refund, no compensation, and no sincere apology was received. Even during checkout, the matter was ignored until I raised it myself, and I was told I’d get a call that never came.This was more than an inconvenience. It was a clear health hazard and a complete failure of basic sanitation standards.I cannot recommend this hotel. It seems that guests cannot even trust that their bed is clean and safe.

  It’s okay but not fabulous

  After reading the lovely reviews, we booked two rooms for three nights to attend a nearby wedding. From the reviews, I was expecting a great hotel. It’s definitely not a bad one. But it is also not wonderful. It’s just an average, generic hotel. The rooms are large and clean, but they are dated and a bit drab. Our bed was on the older side. The bathroom faucet water pressure was poor. The shower was okay with a plastic tile tub surround. The shampoo and soap products are made in China and of lower quality. The drinking cups they give you are made of the cheapest possible plastic. The lightbulbs are cheap and give off an unpleasant glow. Breakfast was just okay. Nothing looked that appetizing or tasted very good. Everything is just average and just okay. The fresh fruits were the best things: bananas and oranges. Everything else was very processed. The breakfast room was nice. The generic pool area did not have adequate shade. The jacuzzi was closed. All of the staff were pleasant. However, at 10:30 am, an hour and half before check out with our “do not disturb” sign on the outside of the door, the cleaning people came in and removed our food items that we were planning to take with us. Not a big deal, but I didn’t like that they did that. If you don’t have high expectations, it will be good enough. It is not a four or five star place.   The perfect stay for a perfect rest

  Jules greeted us with a smile and was so friendly and accommodating. We had just traveled a great distance from attending our son’s wedding. We arrived late in the evening and were very tired. She set us up with a fantastic room with easy access so that we could get some much-needed rest. The room was clean and spacious and the breakfast following morning was delicious.
