  I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and it has always been a decent, if not fancy place to stay. However, my last visit I was charged $60 extra with no explanation. When I called the hotel, they said it was for “three towels”, with the implication being that I walked off with them. Yes, three crummy hotel towels, which I neither wanted, needed, or took. And I am a rewards member. Of course I have complained, both to the hotel directly, and to Best Western, but to date, the charge has not yet been reversed. Maybe it will, but either way, I definitely will not be staying there again.   Decent place to stay overnight

  The staff was very sweet and friendly. It was clean. Hopefully, in the future they can switch to hardwood flooring vs carpet…it would feel cleaner. Bathroom was very clean, which is what we care about. We booked a balcony and we ended up with a harbor view because they were sold out, which is understandable since we booked from a third party and it was last minute.Internet and TV is not the best if you have kids.

  No lamp shade on the lamp. Reported and unable to provide one.Odor upon entering roomDirty/Moldy grout in tubBroken/non-functional old worn fold out couchWeird step up to bathroom. Not identified when making the reservationUpside down/offset electrical fixturesOverflowing trash in the parking lot from check in to check out.   very disappointed in this Best Western

  We had a BW gift card that said "valid thru 8/3/25" The desk clerk, who was dressed very sloppily, insisted that the date of 8/3/25 meant that it could not be used until 8/3/25. We took a lot of time clarifying this with him. He clearly did not understand.We had followed all of the rules of the gift card. The next day at check out, he did credit our bill for the gift card. He should have been more educated about that "valid thru" means.Our room had 2 beds, no light above or between the beds. We needed an outlet for a CPAP machine. There was a portable outlet on the nightstand but the cord of the portable outlet was on the right side rear of the table with no wall outlet to plug it into. We called the desk clerk and he said he could be of no help in this situation. We had to move the furniture ourselves in order for this plug to reach a wall outlet behind the left bed. We were on a trip with a group. we were unable to stay for breakfast that began at 7. There was no coffee offered in the hotel lobby. We stayed in 6 different Best Westerns on our Southern California journey and this was the least desirable. There is a charge for parking of $10 , although the sign in the room said it was only $5, which the desk clerk said was an outdated hotel directory.   Very Good Price, Location and Stay.

  This has always been a great place to stay during the annual Sunset Beach Art festival in May. The rooms are large and very clean, and the hospitality room is well stocked with snacks and supplies. It's only a two minute walk to the beach, and a five minute walk to several good restaurants and "pubs." Kris and his staff are extremely helpful with any needs that a guest may have. Recently around Thanksgiving some family members came into town and enjoyed the same pleasant experience as in May. And, if you're doing things in L.A. and The O.C., it's well located to both counties.
