    Not what we hoped

    rating24 May 2026

Weren't told they were renovating. Breakfast was only cold things. Weren't able to serve hot choices. We were there 4 nights. Family suite really for small children. Ended up adding another room for 2 adults. Sofa bed a joke. Staff very friendly and comped parking for the inconvenience.

Best Western Raffles Inn and Suites, Anaheim

    rating11 May 2026

We've stayed at the Raffles Inn on Harbor Blvd several times over the years and have always felt at home here. The staff has consistently been friendly, and that hasn't changed. That matters to us. We also appreciated having a clean room, and the recently renovated bathroom did give it that fresh, just-cleaned feel. So let me be fair about that upfront. But here's where things went sideways for us this trip. One of the biggest reasons Lina and I have kept coming back is the bathroom layout. In past rooms, there's been a separate vanity area outside the main bathroom. That small detail is huge for a family. While one person showers, someone else can use the sink to get ready. It works. It's practical. It's one of those things you don't really notice until it's gone. The room we stayed in on May 9th had been fully renovated, and whoever redesigned that bathroom apparently didn't think that through. Everything is now one big room, including the closet. I understand some families are fine with that kind of open setup, but to design every room that way and assume that fits everyone? That's a big assumption to make. And it didn't stop there. The walls were completely bare. No shelves. No hooks. Nowhere to hang anything. If you're traveling with toiletries, a loofah, or even just a couple of towels, you're going to notice real fast that there's nowhere to put them. The shower had no soap dish, no place for shampoo, no towel bar nearby, and I'm not exaggerating when I say there were no handles on the shower door. I had to grip the glass itself to open it.The main room looked mostly the same as before. The carpet, the decor, nothing drastically different there. But the bathroom renovation felt like someone was cutting corners while trying to call it modern. Clean? Yes. Functional for a real family? Not really. We also want to mention that the complimentary hot breakfast, which used to be a real highlight of staying here, was no longer available. That was another disappointment. We're not writing this place off completely. The location is hard to beat, the staff is still solid, and we've had good experiences here before. But the redesigned bathroom has us thinking twice about booking again. For a family that values those small but practical details, they matter more than the look of the tile.

    Lot of Broken Promises

    rating26 Apr 2026

I stayed here before 8 years ago and had a great experience. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about this stay.It all started on check in when I was informed there was no hot breakfast. I was told there was a notice on the website about it. The “notice” on the site says “Breakfast Room and Guest Laundry are currently under renovation. Breakfast Buffet is still being served in a temporary location with dining located pool side.” Nowhere in this notice does it say anything about there not being hot breakfast available. Did some research and this has been going on for 7+ months. You’d think they’d make it very clear this was the case when this has been an issue for so long. The breakfast spread is sugar, bread and more sugar. When we got to the room the AC unit didn’t work. I called to the front desk and was transferred to a manager. I was told they knew the AC was broke. So they decided to just not say anything about it at check in and just hope we wouldn’t notice. When I did bring it up to the manager, I was met with some serious attitude. I was finally offered a fan - which was a small Amazon basic unit that barely blew any air.The fun continued when the Mini fridge may as well of been a cabinet. It couldn’t even keep leftovers cool. The “freezer” section that I hoped would be able to at least keep an ice pack cold enough for a cooler bag was like warm at best. I called back to the front desk where maintenance came back. They came in and looked at the fridge. They said it seemed to be working because it was plugged in. I had to show them the water on the freezer unit and have them feel the side of the interior of the fridge to see that it wasn’t cold at all. They did end up replacing the fridge after I insisted. The WiFi signal was terrible. This isn’t a big deal but just another failure to deliver on an amenity you would assume would be provided. The topper on the cake is I was offered a discount on my stay based on all the issues. The manager told me she had applied the discount to my final bill. Shocker - she I checked out snd got my final bill there wasn’t any discount.Disappointing because the location and layout of the room was good. Too bad the management was horrible, treated us like we were doing them a disservice and blatantly lied to us about a discount. Good luck if you book here. They couldn’t care less about you, they are close enough to Disney that people will still book irregardless of their horrible customer service.

    Will never stay here again.

A male employee walked into our room while my wife was in a towel well before our checkout time. Prior to that, we were awakened at 8:30 by a maid knocking on our door the morning after we closed out Disneyland. Then I found a long curly hair that didn’t match anyone in my family on a folded bath towel. The “breakfast” offerings didn’t include ANY protein options. All sugar and other carbs. As a diabetic, that doesn’t leave any viable options other than spending money and time somewhere else for breakfast. On the website the hotel wasn’t clear about what was offered, only that the normal breakfast room is under construction. They are using a room adjacent to the pool to pick up your food from, and the pool area for seating. This morning, the seats were all wet and the pool was locked up. They didn’t even dry off the seats or tables for the guests to use. When we asked for a late checkout, they wanted $30 extra to checkout as late as 1pm. Don’t waste your money. Spend a little more and stay somewhere with much better amenities and customer service. I’ve never stayed somewhere a male employee just walked into our room before we checked out. When my wife told them about it, the hotel told my wife their system showed that we “pre-checked out for 11am, and the employee must have not seen that part.” That is a problem with their system AND their employee who didn’t so much as knock before entering our room. The room was fine. Their customer service is garbage. Will never stay here again and I recommend you don’t either.
