    The biggest issue was the housekeeping and cleanliness standards. We walked into the bathroom and found face towels hanging up with literal black, brown, and yellow stains on them. I have never experienced anything like this at a hotel before.On top of that, there was no working internet service, and we could not even watch TV or access Netflix during our stay. We were offered to move another room only to find the exact same problem, so decided to stay.I emailed the hotel management to bring it to her attention, yet there has still been no response or accountability. There is no excuse for visibly stained towels being placed in a guest room. It shows a complete lack of inspection and oversight from housekeeping and management.One employee Allen, I believe he was a technician, was professional and tried to help, and he gets 5 STARS, but overall, this hotel failed badly on the most basic standards of cleanliness and guest experience. Housekeeping needs to be re trained or hire someone that cares.

    terrible customer service! we’ve been to many marriott’s around the world and have never paid an early check in fee of $30! even with lifetime status they wouldn’t waive it. looked online to see if this was a new policy and it’s not a brand standard so it’s just this specific location. (manager) Judy K, Other at Courtyard by Marriott Ventura Simi Valley, responded to this review Hello Jacob M.I'm sorry that you're displeased about the fee for guaranteed early check-in. Please understand that as a very small property, our labor is assigned certain tasks based on the needs of the day. To be able to guarantee and early check-in. we have to pull someone from their task and redirect the work load. This is an added expense to the property of which a portion is passed along to the guest in the form of an expedited fee. We do offer a non-guaranteed option as well. Guests can arrive at the hotel and ask if there are rooms available for early check-in. If we have any, we process an early check-in without a fee. If we don't, guests can come back later to check again.Once again, I apologize that our policy made you unhappy.

    Very nice hotel in Simi

    We were in town for a bridal shower and found this Courtyard to be very nice. All the amenities were up to Marriott standards and the location was convenient to where we were visiting. Free parking and restaurants and shops nearby make this hotel an easy choice when staying in Simi Valley.

    I would never stay here again!! First, early check-in CHARGE when the room was ready anyway. How damn cheap can you get? And...there is never anyone around in the lobby or front desk. A lineup at check-in got us "my backup is on a conf call and will be out soon". This is the service for the early check-in charge. And...housekeeping every two days. The trash cans in the room are now overflowing. There were so few tissues in the kleenex box that we ran out and there is no one around to refill. There is ONE PERSON at the coffee bar serving people so if you come when others are getting their lattes, cappuccinos, etc., you just have to wait it out. There are so many things this place could do better and to start, DON'T CHARGE A FEE TO CHECK IN EARLY AND ANGER PEOPLE BEFORE THEY EVEN GET TO THEIR ROOMS.

    I feel like there is nothing besides location that distinguishes this from a motel 6. The price was on the cheaper side so that’s a plus, but the art of customer service is gone. We are here 2 night and no room service. Guess that’s how things r 2day
