Hotel is due to be demolished & it shows no one cares about it.

The only thing positive about this hotel was the staff because they were easy to deal with. As we checked in we found out the hotel is slated to be demolished by the end of the year along with many buildings in the harbor. Clearly the hotel has been neglected for a while. The room was extremely shabby and resembled an old motel room & the breakfast room was a joke. We had a "deluxe" room but there was nothing deluxe about it. Our "Harbor View" was a "Parking Lot View". We cut our stay short - could barely handle 1 night and fortunately the staff gave us a refund for remaining nights. It's now on our list of the worst hotel rooms we've stayed in. Absolutely NOT worth $260.

Staff, especially Aris, was wonderful.

All staff was nice and friendly but Aris, at the front desk, was exceptional! He took care of a minor issue with professionalism, efficiency, friendliness and in such a positive manner that would stay in this hotel again if we are ever back in the area.Hotel is a bit dated but it was certainly comfortable, our room was clean, there was plenty of hot water for showers and the hotel had a great location. Wish room had a microwave but staff did say they would heat up anything we wanted in the one at the front desk.

This place is dated, but in the most nostalgic and wonderful way! The staff was nice, and you’re so close to the ocean! The jacuzzi was very relaxing & having breakfast included saved us a lot of time & money!

Nice location but that is it.Hotel itself- old, outdated. Carpet torn/stained in rooms and halls. Smelled clean and did not turn out feet black but needs replacing.Pool- not heated, hot tub- not hot enough.Breakfast- only edible thing is waffles. Coffee terrible.They are going to tear down and rebuild so they aren't doing improvements. The only nice thing was location to catch ferry to Catalina.Also- no conditioner provided.Staff very nice. They deserve to have a nicer place to work at.Bathroom in room only has pedestal sink so little to no room to put out toiletries/ flat iron. Also had to put my trash outside for them to pick up. There was mildew and missing silicone in bathroom and our sink didn't drain. There was thick layer of dust on dryer on wall and my sheets were clean but discolored.

Enjoyed our stay at Dana Point Marina Inn! We will return for sure. Thank for great price and comfortable place to stay. Expected a. Continental breakfast, much better than that. Keep up the good work!
