Stayed for 1 night for a whistle-stop tour of Hollywood.Friendly check in and plenty of parking on site.Room was clean and functional, bed was comfortable. Would have liked a security deposit box.Many have said that the area is sketchy, and I suppose it is. I never felt unsafe at any point though and there is a security guard on property.Definitely recommend this place for the price and location.

I was charged a $100 security deposit twice after I checked out for no reason (bank statement is attached). A big escalation is coming. Don’t trust them

Great location, central to most things if you rented a car. Secure free parking which is near impossible to find on sunset. Place is well lit and felt secure despite neighborhood not the best. During the day there is a security guard which is a plus. Friendly staff and great prices. I love the whilshire location as well. But if that is booked, this location is great too.

We cancelled our other reservation and chose Dunes Inn as we decided made, give them a 5 star rating.ent a car. That was a great choice for visiting LA and Dunes has free parking, so convenient! Staff were accommodating to every request we made

It's better than you think when price is important

Don't worry too much about the reviews here: maybe people have high expectations. I've stayed here 3 times for short business trips and it's been easy, affordable, always a park available (maybe not in high season) and friendly staff. Sure, the room is very drab and not the most comfortable bed like you get in a hotel, but for the price and location it's a great deal for short visits. We've walked around the area at night as a couple but I wouldn't alone, though really it's not any more unsafe than any other area in this crazy wonderful city.
