TIRED, DATED and CERTAINLY NOT WHAT THE INTERNET SHOWS Perfect for Budget travelers with little or no expectation.

    rating06 Jun 2026

The internet paints a brighter picture indeed! If you're looking for cheap place to crash while escrow closes on you home, then yes, the Extended Stay works--but set all your regular hotel expectations aside. The "breakfast included" is a grab-and-go consisting of granola bars and instant oatmeal--the latter of which was exhausted by 7:00 a.m. If you take cream in your coffee then bring some, they didn't have any. Enough said, we're moving to the Holiday Inn, digesting the additional cost for more comfortable and well-appointed accommodations. ESA GM, General Manager at Extended Stay America - Los Angeles - Simi Valley, responded to this review Dear kevinc683,Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are sorry to hear that our accommodations and amenities did not meet your expectations during your stay. Your observations regarding breakfast options and beverage services have been received with gratitude. Feedback such as yours is essential for us as it provides insights into our guests' experiences and preferences. We strive to provide better experiences for our guests, and your feedback is invaluable in this effort. We hope you find your next stay with us more to your liking and appreciate your time in sharing your thoughts.Sincerely,Hotel Management

Worst hotel experience of my life

    rating18 Sept 2025

We stayed for 3 nights, and then decided to prolong our stay and made reservation for two more nights, but were rudely forced to move out because we were late for checkout for 15 minutes. Person at the front desk showed her attitude stating that "you violated policy being late and I can't honor your reservation" Furthermore, she threatened to call police if we would not leave the premises in 10 minutes. I was injured at the time with broken right hand in cast, not easy to pack with one working hand.Rude, unprofessional, obnoxious, really disgusting when a person tries to display her "superior authority" for nothing.Going to formally complain to BBB and corporate, such staff members should not represent a good company.Needless to say that this is last time ever I am going to stay with Extended Stay America. Also going to share this story on all social media ESA GM, General Manager at Extended Stay America - Los Angeles - Simi Valley, responded to this review Dear 865vadymb, Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Roach infested

    rating31 Aug 2025

The Simi Valley Extended Stay location is infested with roaches. The sheets had blood stains on them. The room was run done, from the countertops to the appliances. Service was terrible, after notifying them of my stay I was simply told to have a nice day. The location is sketchy and the halls and rooms smell like smoke which is odd for it to be a non smoking facility. I wouldn’t recommend a dog to stay at this location. ESA GM, General Manager at Extended Stay America - Los Angeles - Simi Valley, responded to this review Dear daneekal2025,Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are truly sorry to hear about the serious concerns you encountered, from the condition of your room to the service you received. This is not the standard we strive to provide, and we sincerely apologize for the disappointment and discomfort caused. Please be assured that your feedback has been shared with our team, and immediate steps are being taken to address issues related to cleanliness, pest control, and guest service. Formal Complaint – Unacceptable and Unprofessional Conduct by Front Desk Manager

    rating15 Jul 2025

Dear Extended Stay Corporate Management,I’m writing to formally report an unacceptable experience I had at your Los Angeles Simi Valley (2498 Stearns Street, Simi Valley, California 93063, United States) property this morning July 16th 2025.Just before 11:00 AM, I called the front desk to request an extension. Due to a recent back injury, I’m wearing a back brace and am on doctor-prescribed medication, which makes it extremely difficult to move quickly. I was told I had to come downstairs before 1130 in person to extendWhile I was in the process of booking a one-month stay through Extended Stay’s corporate website, there was a knock at my door around 11:30 AM. When I opened the door, I tried to show the front desk manager the confirmation I had just completed seconds earlier—proving I had already secured a 31 day, month-long booking. ( She responded, “I don’t care. You’re no longer welcome here,” and told me I had five minutes to leave. When I asked for an explanation or suggested checking out and returning later, She dismissed me with a condescending tone, stating I had 15 minutes to leave, and carried herself in a way that made it clear she felt superior and unconcerned with treating guests respectfully. This behavior was not only unprofessional—it was completely unacceptable, especially given my health condition and my respectful attempt to resolve the situation. I believe the real issue may stem from me booking online rather than through the front desk, where rates are higher and staff men meets Matt be credited for the booking. Regardless, I’ve stayed at this hotel for two months on a daily rate, paying in full each time, and have never caused any problems or requested special treatment.Despite my physical limitations, I was forced to pack and remove all of my belongings immediately—multiple boxes that I had to carry downstairs while wearing a back brace. I have photos documenting the move.Additionally, I had spotted a roach in the room the night before, which I initially chose not to report—but now feel it’s important to include. On top of that, the washer machines ate up two of my laundry loads, each worth approximately $4.75. When I asked the front desk for assistance, I was told they would “note it down,” but I have yet to receive any follow-up or refund.I want to emphasize that this hotel is extremely convenient for me, as I own and operate a business located on the same property. In fact, we often deal with shared concerns, including guests parking in my business’s designated spaces and occasional issues from hotel overflow and certain unruly clientele. Despite these challenges, I’ve been supportive of the hotel and its staff.I even told several team members that I was genuinely happy to have them next door and looked forward to having my shop serve as their “break room,” so to speak. They were welcome any time, and I had even planned to offer free items and create exclusive promotions for hotel guests as a gesture of goodwill and community support. To be clear, all other staff members I’ve interacted with have been professional and courteous. The issue lies solely with the front desk manager who was on duty Wednesday morning (July 16 2025).This situation was avoidable, deeply disappointing, and unacceptable. I hope management takes this matter seriously and ensures that no guest—especially one dealing with a medical condition—is ever treated in this manner again. ESA GM, General Manager at Extended Stay America - Los Angeles - Simi Valley, responded to this review Dear josecX9867QT,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are genuinely sorry for the way your situation was handled, particularly given the health challenges you were facing at the time. Your comments about maintenance issues and laundry inconvenience are taken seriously. While some matters may have had limitations in resolution at the time, this is not the level of care or professionalism we strive for. Your feedback has been shared with the appropriate teams, and we remain committed to improving the guest experience. We hope you’ll consider giving us another opportunity to provide the level of respect and comfort you rightfully expect.Sincerely,Hotel Management

    Worst place I’ve ever stayed

    rating26 Jun 2025

Honestly this place was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Was there for a week while I worked nights in the city and would come back to the hotel every night to it being locked. Even using the key card reader and it lighting green the doors wouldn’t unlock and everytime I brought it up to staff they just acted like I was crazy and ignored it. They threatened to have my truck toes twice for expired registration tags (they were up to date) the toilet clogged everytime I used it. The staff were rude and completely unhelpful. Half the keys they gave me didn’t work or would stop working suddenly so I got locked out of my room multiple times. And they called me in the middle of my night (8am) I worked nights and got off work at 5am so I had just gotten to sleep and told me I had ten minutes to come to the front desk to pay or they would kick me out of my room. They told me when I checked in I’d pay every Friday and they changed it to Wednesday and never told me anything then tried to blame me for missing the pay day. The place smells like fish food and something rotten and nothing works right. I have never written a review for a place in my life but my time here was so bad I actually took the time to write this. I cannot emphasize this enough people, do not stay at this hotel. It’s a waste of good money. You’d get better service at a motel 6 ESA GM, General Manager at Extended Stay America - Los Angeles - Simi Valley, responded to this review Dear O1010QWpeterp,We sincerely apologize for the challenges you encountered during your stay, and we understand how frustrating that must have been for you. From repeated lockouts and key issues to plumbing concerns and poor communication about payments, your stay fell far below expectations. We also regret how your vehicle situation and concerns were handled. That’s not the level of service we aim to provide. Please know that your feedback is incredibly important to us, and we are committed to addressing these issues with our team. We greatly appreciate your observations and concerns. We hope you will consider giving us a second chance to provide you with the hospitality you deserve.Sincerely,Hotel Management
