Quiet, good neighborhood
07 Mar 2026
I’ve enjoyed my stay here at extended stays on Del Amo in Torrance, California. The staff is very nice, I’d like to give a shout out to Francisco. He’s always very sweet and quick and he’s just a really cool guy! The only downfall, is issue with bathroom tissue and other products that are needed they seem to be short on. I’m flexible I purchased my own.

Horrible odor in hallways and rooms
25 Oct 2025
This is a review I didn't want to make but Tripadvisor and this hotel has cause me an expensive nightmare and I want to warn others about both of their shady business policies. On Sept 11, I booked with Tripadvisor a 3 night stay starting on 9-13 at the Extended Stay America Del Amo Circle in Torrance CA under my sister's name because she was the one checking in.My sister arrived and checked in, she got the key and went to the room. The hallway and room had a horrible odor and when she pulled back the bedspread the sheets had debris on them. She went downstairs to complain and called me, I heard the whole conversation and they offered her another room. I told her to check that one out since finding a different hotel on such short notice would be costly. The second hallway and room had the same horrible smell so she didn't even enter. She went back to the lobby and told the counter person she couldn't stay there due to the horrible smell. The check in attendant had a line of people checking in and said, go just go! So my sister turned in the key and left. I immediately called Tripadvisor and told them we were canceling the reservation and exactly why. They said since my sister was the customer (I booked and paid for the reservation but it was under her name for check in purposes) she needed to call and recount the reason we were canceling. She called the phone number we were given and told them the story. I called Tripadvisor the next day asking when I would be refunded the 394.74 I had been charged. They said an inquiry had been opened up and I would get an email with a case #, I received that and then another email the following day, that mentioned the hotel was being contacted for their view of the incident. I called to ask if Tripadvisor was going to do an inspection of the hotel to verify the smell my sister described and they said no, they partner with thousands of hotels and can't inspect them all. Tripadvisor sent a final email on 9-16 that said:Thank you for your patience while we worked on your refund request. The hotel partner has just gotten back to us, and unfortunately, they were unable to authorize a refund at this time, even given the circumstances. Also, the hotel mentioned that you did not inform them regarding the problem that you faced at the room.Because the hotel's policies bind us, we're only able to process what has been authorized by the hotel.Warm Regards,Tripadvisor SupportIn other words, Tripadvisor will not refund my money because the hotel won't authorize it! My sister turned in two keys, told them about the smell in both rooms and that she couldn't stay there. She never slept in the room for 3 nights yet we are expected to still pay for them? We had both called Tripadvisor and they opened a case for cancelation. The hotel was clearly lying about her not informing them why we were canceling and we told Tripadvisor the reason that very night.Tripadvisor was the company I booked with who refused to return the money. If you book through Tripadvisor be advised YOU are not the customer they care about. The hotel is their partner entity and that company can say anything they want to deny a refund. They didn't even bother to refute the horrible odor my sister experienced at this hotel. Apparently even given their unacceptable conditions you can't refuse to stay there and the free cancelation only applies to the deadline given at booking which is before you get there and inspect the room!I am working with my bank to dispute the charge and that has been a headache as well since the hotel told Bank of America my sister didn't inform them of the problem. I may also need to cancel my credit card if they won't support my claim. I will never book anything with Tripadvisor again nor will any of my family.

Manager breaking the law charging for a service animal
12 Sept 2025
My fiance and I moved to Torrance. We have been looking to buy a home in the area. During our stay New Management came on board at Extended Stay. My fiance and I have a service dog. He has all his certifications. We were questioned about him actually being a service dog. Our dog is a Psychiatric Service Dog(PSD) a type of service animal individually trained to perform specific tasks for a person with mental health disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder anxiety, or depression. The manager Kevin started charging us $10 a day for our service dog. That's is illegal. I cannot believe that they have a manager breaking the law and charging gas for their service animal. I am absolutely disgusted. My fiance and I got out of there and quickly as possible. But we plan on making sure this is taken care of properly.

Simply NOT My cup of Beer!!! “TEA!”
19 Jul 2025
I have no words!!! Had I known the how deplorable this stay would be!!!! I trusted the word of a reputable source that stayed only to find they ACTUALLY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT A QUALITY HOTEL!!! Because I trusted them I didn’t do my due diligence and look into the facts of this location! My fault! Pictures speak 1000000 words. I WILL POST!!! The only thing decent was the bed and linen. Pillows were horrible!!! TV. was newer, Fridge was newer and clean. Kitchen area overall outdated and rusty and wilted appliances and wood!!! No mirrors except in bathroom. Just horrible! Oh yes, newer floors but 1970 blinds!!! I’ll stop here! Hopefully I can post photos! So sorry to give such a bad but truthful review! To think I was going to bring others and children!!! After my late arrival etc. I had to stay. Otherwise I’d have sought other accommodation!

Dear 570valeriet,Thank you for your honest and detailed feedback. We're sorry your experience fell far below expectations, especially after relying on a trusted recommendation. While we're glad the bed and some in-room features met your needs, the rest of your stay clearly missed the mark. We understand how frustrating it is to feel let down by the condition and appearance of the space. Your comments have been shared with our team for review, and we appreciate the chance to improve moving forward. We hope you will give us a second chance to deliver the type of experience you should always expect from our hotel.Sincerely,Hotel Management

Renovations Upgraded Extended Stay: Best location in the South Bay!!
30 Jun 2025
The renovations at Extended Stay have upgraded Extended Stay and have been appreciated by long term guests/tenants especially the carpet and rooms. New laundry machines make laundry room appear like a professional laundry. We were so happy to find new wash machines - they're nice to use!! It made a noticeable difference and in the lobby. Hopefully the renovations will continue. It was run down upon first arrival - they repainted the lobby. The carpet used to smell of pet urine and old odors: The last manager left shortly after my arrival, and Kevin, the new manager has fulfilled promises on the planned renovations, when we were first informed. It doesn't look as run down anymore, before his arrival. Better guests. We're looking forward to the final phase of the carpet renovations in the stairwell area!!Now, we have brand new carpet on all three floors!! It's brightened up the hallways - not depressed anymore.A great place to have the world's first Extended Stay pool (Go Fund Me? Kickstarter fundraising?)!! This Extended Stay location is one of the best locations in the South Bay and Southern California, especially for quiet and peace, and privacy or to the Del Amo mall for a day out: The Del Amo Village next door is steps away. I didn't realize how nice the area is - the tall, beautiful trees everywhere and in the parking lot. You can commune with nature in privacy here. And in the opposite direction, on Carson Street, one of the cheapest Japanese grocery stores with fresh food is a walk away. Seiwa market is a pleasant market. The more premium rooms feel like an actual small apartment and smaller rooms, your own studio apartment. You can build your own home in your own room. It never has felt like an average hotel room at any day. Thestaff and management are respectful of one's privacy. They don't disturb guests or tenants, unless, they need to communicate something importantor evict unpaying tenant guests (thankfully - it seems shortly after Kevin, the new manager, arrived last year, the unruly, disrespectful, majority of criminal tenants have started to taper off and stopped coming.)Lorna, one of the housekeepers, has always been courteous and respectful, from the beginning. She regularly cleans my room and is genuinely good person. The front desk staff are people-oriented. The location on Torrance Blvd, near by, is a nice location, too, next to malls, churches and services, but,the front desk staff is not as professional as this location nor friendly/welcoming, at all - as if guests were a bother to them, barelyanswering questions about room rates, etc. Although, the guests are courteous there. (If they replaced their staff, business could improve.)The staff here are welcoming. They do know how to make it feel likea home and are accommodating. If you're having a bad day, Iris, the front desk staff, will notice and ask you if you are ok, and give you astute advice. The tenants who were unruly and disrespectful before - before Kevin came -finally left. It's much more peaceful now. I spoke to other tenant guests, and if you're sincerely and humbly attempting to reform or change your life from a former direction, you will be helped in different unseen ways. Something special in this hotel (in the midst of daily life events and normal, everyday issues) seems to occur during these moments and days. This location has so much potential still waiting to develop. Costs can besaved with a lot of resources (Dollar Tree, Dollar Stores, Discount online stores, etc. - I found quality items at the Dollar Tree. Household products, office needs, frozen food, etc.).They have a spacious, large, community room here, as well - could be used to rent for events or meetings? Or even a computer/Extended Stay - Business Office at Extended Stay (used, computers for sale, nearby at computer store and can chargefor per use?)Bobby, at the front desk, Talik, Iris, Stephanie, Maria, are courteous. I am still surprised learning how they genuinely are warm, not because they have to - unless days are busier and deadlines have to be met. Some days, other guests can have bad days, but, for the most part, I found you'll be met with appreciation in return by only a little token of appreciation for them. Many of them enjoy having conservations with guests. Bobby, Talik of the front desk, are steady, courteous, respectful presences who handles most of my transactions. Their consistent work ethic leaves you feeling that transactions are quicker and effortless - and that nothing is that much a problem. Nancy, on the weekends, gave helpful advice. The female front desk staff are warm people.Bobby and Talik have always been reliable and consistent.Sometimes, you'll learn things about life here - just in passing conversations with them. And exchanging jokes, great humour desperately needed in today's world and times :DIn hindsight, I didn't have a pleasant experience - but a stressful experience at a Best Western in Redondo Beach (PCH) for a long time as a long time tenant (ended up as an insider, there, to things unseen that guests never have seen or witnessed, etc.).yet, the hospitality here is genuine, not a false show of one. There are always normal issues in any hospitality occupation or service, but, I never felt a kind of division, ongoing stress, exhaustion, moral corruption, etc ... or being taken advantaged here, at any time, that I had there. The staff here seems to earnestly appreciate guests who care for them in return. The front desk and staff appreciates little decorations during holidays orflowers in general :).Other locations have closed, but, this location is the best one and service and staff . It's a beautiful property and so much potential and possibilities.
