    Disappointed experience

    rating06 Jun 2026

Booked a two night prepaid stay at this Inn. This property is over one hundred years old, with minimal accommodations. The bathroom was very small, shower controls were loose. Air Conditioning was not working. We stayed one night, front desk staff mentioned they were willing to reimburse for one night. Unfortunately the Inn was not interested in giving us a one night credit, following several phone calls and one written letter. I will not be returning to this establishment. Very poor customer service.

The Glen Tavern and Staff felt like a warm embrace from loving family after a long absence!

    rating10 Apr 2026

I cannot say enough good about our stay at The Glen Tavern; it was just so incredibly lovely! The staff behaved more like hospitable family than hotel staff, yet, they were very professional, and they went over and above any expectations to accommodate our needs and wishes. Our visit to Santa Paula, our childhood hometown from the 1950's to the late 1970's, was to honor our mother who had passed away. My brother and his wife came down from Oregon, and I flew out from Texas. Our cousins came in from Southern Calif. We were all staying there at The Glen Tavern. We had planned to have a small service and to spread her ashes at a local ranch where Mother had grown up. As it so happened, we were not able to carry out our original plans, and we were faced with having to find a place for our service. My cousin had the idea to possibly have the service portion of our memorial right there in the gazebo on the beautiful Glen Tavern Grounds.... We would intern the ashes elsewhere. My cousin and I approached the desk and spoke with a gentleman there. We told him why we were all in Santa Paula, and how our original plans had fallen through. When we asked about using the Gazebo for our simple and sweet service; he was more than willing to allow our small gathering. His kindness and warmth as well as his condolences for the loss of our mother, felt like a warm embrace from loving family after a long absence! He was more than agreeable to our request, and he also offered help in any way possible including providing chairs. Within a short while, all the staff who needed to know seemed aware of our reason for having come home to Santa Paula, and they seemed eager to be of service, all expressing the same family style hospitality and kindness. One gal even printed some items for us. We all felt so well cared for--it felt like home... so considerate and kind. Our service turned out beautiful, and we all remarked about how welcomed we felt at the Glen Tavern--how we couldn't have chosen a more fitting and charming place to not only stay, but even more so to have our mother's service. The Gazebo was so pretty, they allowed us to put up a little table with flowers--it was just so lovely! (Again, the internment was held elsewhere.)As for the hotel itself; the accommodations were excellent, the rooms were very comfortable, and everything was clean and charming. We just enjoyed our time there so very much. Because of their warmth and hometown hospitality, there is no question were I will stay when in the future, I return to our lovely and beautiful childhood town of Santa Paula. One other thing I want to add: as children, we used to walk by the Glen Tavern often while growing up. We would stand and look at it while talking about how pretty it was, and how some day when we were "rich and grown-up" we would go there! Back then, it seemed way above our means and like an impossible dream. As it turns out, we didn't have to be "rich" after all, as their prices are competitively reasonable especially for such a unique and history laden as well as beautiful hotel... Like I said before, I could go on and on with compliments... I just can't say enough good about our stay at the Glen Tavern! Other than, I will add, Thank you--thank you so very much! Your hospitality and kindness are forever in our hearts!

    Good Value and Interesting Past

    rating21 Mar 2026

Fun and interesting hotel. It has a long history of Hollywood guests and "haunted" stories from the past. Double check you room option to avoid or select a room with a history... The restaurant and bar on site is a very nice addition, we arrived late and were still able to get an excellent meal and refreshing beverages.

Not “The Overlook” but worth the Stay

    rating25 Feb 2026

What an unexpected Gem! This was such a unique place to stay! So much charm and interesting artifacts! The decor offered so many options for photos! Did not have an over the top paranormal experience… but…. Did hear a little girls’ voice from the room next door that did not have a child as a guest! Dinner was good with the added bonus of table side magic! Morning pastries and coffee in lobby in front of fireplace just added to the overall experience. Our Host Jeremy was so welcoming and informative! If you are heading that way…Book it!!

It was just a lovely place to stay. It’s what every vacc cc stunt looks for especially when they need some good rest and relaxation. Rooms had all the essentials and more. Lovely antiques. Plenty of space. Large TV The jetted tub was bigger than I’ve seen in a hotel. And very welcome. The service was impeccable. Whatever I needed was answered and provided. If you’re going to this area, this is the place to stay. You will feel warmth and ambience relaxation safety, and renewal! and that is what we all want in a vacation, isn’t it ? Enjoy the Glenn Taberon. You’ll be glad you stayed.
