    Hotel is located very close to the Rose Bowl and Old Town Pasadena, which was great for convenience and proximity to points of interest. The hotel appears to be a work in progress with noisy construction activities taking place throughout the day. The pool was closed and the free breakfast no longer was available (permanent or not is unknown). The staff seemed new and somewhat unfamiliar with working with the reservations system. All in all, we had a good stay but will probably pass on returning until they complete their updates and bring their staff up to speed.

    Price was good, first room was not. Stinky, couldn't access window because the blinds were duct-taped and wouldn't move. Second room was better, though wad(s) of hair on bathroom floor/door, and toiletries were empty so unusable, and only one, not full roll of toilet paper. Front desk staff attentiveness and kindness was definitely hit or miss and, horrors, they were "out of coffee" at the free breakfast -- and when they said out of coffee, they meant for days. (Surely it doesn't help me that it was "on order" when it was unavailable in that moment, that morning.) Cleaning crew (the lady at the room, the guy doing exterior) were both very nice. I dunno, it was OK -- but it definitely could have been better!!

    Excellent hotel, every time, extremely friendly and responsive staff make the experience seamless. The rooms are simple, but perfectly prepared, parking is easy, simple but solid breakfast, excellent front office staff.,

    This is our second time staying at the Pasadena Green Tree. It's an excellent price for the area. It's clean and management is friendly and helpful. Easy parking, as well.

    I will be honest and admit I booked this hotel because it was the cheapest option, I have stayed at better hotels in Pasadena before. The only good points are that they honoured my reservation (not a given based on other reviews) and the location is good, close to the Del Mar Metrolink station and the Whole Foods store. The bad points, let's start with the pool, which was closed down due to a broken pump and presumably had been for some time. Odd then, to be charged a 12 dollar supplement to cover things like the pool and the wifi. I can't vouch for whether that worked either because reception didn't offer a code to use it, and nor did they tell me about the free grab and go breakfast. But give it a miss anyway and get better food at Whole Foods nearby, which opens really early and serves good breakfast bagels and coffee. As for the 100 dollar deposit, the room was very basic, and you would be hard pressed to cause 100 dollars worth of damage.
