  FRAUD ALERT!!!

  My wife and I went to a show at the Wiltern Theatre a few weeks ago. This hotel looked to be within walking distance of the theatre, so I booked it. Firstly, do not be misguided by the pictures. We got there at 2pm, an hour before the normal check-in, and had to pay an additional $20 for early check-in. Our room was horrible. It was tiny. It was dirty. The hotel was far from boutique. And the room smelled like urine after the minisplit had been running for a while. The building next door (5 feet away) was under construction, so all we could hear was saws and nail guns throughout the day. The view consisted of a pile of pigeon poop on the next door building. Also, the front desk warned us not to walk back from the theater because of the crime in the neighborhood. Upon check out, I told the front desk about the urine smell, and he said he'd let the manager know, and I could be contacted. 2 weeks later, the credit card that I used to book and charge my room was flagged for a $350 purchase in LA. I had not used that credit card in months, except for the hotel. I had not even taken the card with me. They just charged my "card on file" when we checked in. I looked up the restaurant where the purchase was luckily declined by Capital One, and it was a Mexican place about 10 miles from the hotel.I once again called the hotel and asked for the manager to call me. Because someone there took my credit card number. Maybe it was even the manager, since he never called me back? But it's now been over a week, and he has not called. So here I am, warning others not to stay there.And I almost forgot about the $34 "secure" parking fee. It is far from secure. The gate looks like it hasn't been closed in 10 years, with vines growing through it. There was no one outside checking vehicles, because many vehicles did not have hotel parking tags on their windshields. Just a vacant valet stand.

  It’s a little out of the way but the staff are so pleasant and friendly and do anything for you. There’s a brunch bar open 10-4 which was so friendly. The staff let us sit at a table with our own drinks when the bar was shut. Very clean. Would recommend.

  I had an air bnb nightmare that meant I needed to find a place to stay on very short notice. H was available and easy to book. They have parking on-site and the staff was very kind and helpful. The room was exactly what I needed. For the price point, this is a great option. The restaurant was also very good and the staff very pleasant. My experience reinforces why hotels, when priced right, are such a better option than air bnb. Would highly recommend.

  Looking at the hotel from the streets, the view of the hotel looks trendy. As I walked in the inside view looks also trendy. The functionality of each component is also superb. One example is the shower faucet, it has a thermostat that I can use to control the water temperature, also an on/off switch to control the water flow. Another example is the LED light that has been placed around the mirror, it flashes in colors. The red bricks give harmony. The logo, the shower head the shampoo holder everything else that is part of the hotel provide calmness and have an eco-friendly design. I am also happy with the service from the hotel staff provided thank you.

  Honestly, I lucked up on this hotel. H by H Hospitality is a hidden gem in LA that is downtown and close to a bunch. For starters the H cafe is SUPERB the breakfast lunch options are incredible. Everything on that menu looked delicious. The front desk staff Henry and Rodrigo were very nice and expedited our check in. The room itself is simple, yet elegant and to the point. Beds were very clean and comfortable, only thing is the TV is not set up for streaming but they do have cable. Only reason I’m knocking it down one star. But the price, location and vibes made for a good stay.
