    Inconsistent treatment from the Staff!

    One of the worst hotel stays of my life...and I travel a lot! Particularly to East Africa. As a return guest, with a small dog, I was looking forward to three nights of relaxation and sleep! I had just been through a major home move in the San Bernardino mountains (Lake Arrowhead) and I was completely exhausted when I first arrivedl!!! I needed a full night's sleep! Around 3:30 am in the morning during the first night, the hotel alarm went off!!! We had to get dressed and evacuate the hotel. I stood outside with my dog, along with everyone else, wondering what on earth was going on!!! When we finally got back to our rooms, with no explanation of WHY the alarm went off, I discovered that my smoke alarm was still beeping inside my room because of a low battery. I asked someone to come and change the battery and they said "No!" They told me to wait while they found me another room. What? I waited and waited but no one called me back. In the meantime, the smoke alarm kept beeping which was not only upsetting to my dog but to me as well. I was dead tired!!! Finally, I packed everything back up and finally moved across the hall to another room on the first floor. It was already almost 6:30 am. I was told by the hotel manger that my room would be compensated for that night. This was December 21st. It was not!!! The next day, 12/22, I was in a major auto accident just down from the Hilton Garden Inn on Portola. This happened in the late afternoon. I was broadsided by another car which caused my car to flip! My dog was with me. It took the Fire Dept, 2 1/2 hours to extract me from my car. Thankfully, they had already gotten my dog out. My car was totaled and I was badly injured. I spent the next two days and nights at Mission Hospital. I do believe Daniel at the hotel was aware of all of this...and he was very professional and kind. As he alway is. My complaint is about the rudeness of the gal who worked behind the desk on 12/24. I did not stay at the hotel on the nights of 12/22 or 12/23, because I was in the hospital. My friend took me back to the Hilton Garden Inn the morning of 12/24 to pick up all of my belongings which were still in my room. The girl at the front desk was extremely rude to me when I asked her why the first night was being charged to me when the manager said I would not have to pay. I can still see her face but I do not remember her name. She absolutely should not be working in the hospitality business! She was so mean spirited...and at a time when I was obviously at my worst both physically and mentally (I had a cast on my broken right wrist; my broken right ankle; and my left knee). Needless to say, I will never stay at a Hilton Garden Inn again! From someone who travels quite a lot, simple kindness goes a long way - and the Hilton Garden Inn Foothill Ranch was certainly lacking in this respect!! Not to mention...I never got compensated for my first night there. My advice...think twice before staying there or simply go elsewhere!!!

    Girl over the phone was very rude in her tone simply because I asked how much deposit was. I didn’t bother to stop by the desk since I used digital but I’m sure it would’ve caused me stress.

    great stay with my family for two nights while we were in town for a wedding. the only issue we ran into is when a travel sports group of teens was running around the hallways and making a big fuss, but the staff solved our noise complaint.

    Very disappointed as most of the workout equipment was not functioning and upon asking at the front desk, I received no help but only a response that "they well let people know when the right people come in to work." Additionally, I was served bacon even after I asked not to be served it... as a vegetarian, the last thing I want to do is cause more animals to be slaughtered.

    Free parking, updated/ renovated rooms, soft pillows and beds. The room was super clean and really appreciated the updated showers (not a tub). The king sized bed room was spacious and felt really clean. Check in was quick and easy. Love it.
