    Friendly staff, shame about the neighbourhood

    Stayed here as a stop off for universal and Dodgers game. The staff we could not fault and the breakfast was good, however the area is full of homeless and people openly doing drugs in the street but I believe this has been an issue for a while so is no fault of the hotel. I wouldn't recommend walking around at night.     Disappointing Breakfast Service

    ⭐️ Disappointing Breakfast Experience 12-27-2025 SaturdayI had a very disappointing experience at Holiday Inn Express Los Angeles, especially with the breakfast service. Breakfast was advertised to be available until 10:00 AM for weekends but when I went around 9:15AM, almost everything was already empty, as shown in the attached pictures. There was no effort made to refill the food items.Additionally, there was no water container available in the lobby, which is very inconvenient for guests. I asked the staff about both the breakfast situation and the water, but no one seemed to care or take responsibility. There was no apology, solution, or follow-up.This level of service does not meet the expectations of a Holiday Inn Express property. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves guest service and accountability in the future.

    I stayed here before going to a venue in L.A. This is a good value. Unlike a lot of hotels, they actually have a microwave in their rooms! Their Keurig works well, they have coffee in the lobby, my room was very quiet, the room was spacious, the free breakfast was good. The workout room although small, had a very good elliptical machine. The front desk found an available room for me 2 hours before I was scheduled to check in. I really appreciated this. I do wish they would offer a couple of different beers in their refrigerator. Overall, a very nice stay.

    Clean Hotel, But Unsafe Location

    We stayed here recently and while the staff were friendly and the room itself was clean and comfortable, the location was disappointing. The surrounding area felt unsafe, and the staff even advised us not to walk outside at night. MacArthur Park nearby added to that uneasy feeling, and to make matters worse, there’s really nowhere safe to take your dog—especially after dark.For travelers, it’s important to know that while the hotel delivers on service and cleanliness, the environment outside really impacts the overall stay. Until the city addresses these safety concerns, I wouldn’t recommend this property if you plan on exploring the area on foot or traveling with pets.     Visited Los Angeles to celebrate my son’s Birthday. Had the pleasure of stating at this hotel with my husband and 2 kids aged 5-6. I was extremely happy and satisfied due to the staff being so welcoming and kind not only to me but also to my children. The woman at check in was being very sweet and chatting with the kids while my husband and I checked in with a gentleman who was also very nice and helpful. After checking in we went to our room which was the 2 queen bed suite with a balcony. The room was great! Very clean and comfortable. The hotel and parking were very easy to navigate and it was very clean and tidy all around. They also had a small pool ( 3 ft) I believe with a small outside lounging area which we all really enjoyed. The breakfast was really good, quick easy bite before checking out. Check out was also really quick and painless. Overall great hotel for a decent price, we will definitely be coming back for future stays!
