A polite and empathetic receptionist with the guests.

    rating11 Jan 2026

First of all, I would like to express my immense gratitude to the receptionist Cintia for knowing what hospitality and kindness truly mean; I've been going to Los Angeles for about 15 years and I've never seen such good service for a guest with limited English. As for the hotel, it provides good service; I found many of the reviews I had read before staying there unfair; it's very well located on a very important avenue in downtown Los Angeles. It doesn't have a restaurant (it was closed), but there's a convenience store nearby and a very good restaurant serving wood-fired roast chicken and rice and beans is 20 minutes away. A little further on there's a very good supermarket. It's also not far from a metro station. You can also find regular buses on the hotel's avenue (east-west) and Western (north-south). The room is very good, spacious, with a large window and view; forget comments that it's old. There's an old phone, but who uses hotel phones these days? The internet is very good. The bathroom is spacious, and I liked the water and the hermetically sealed paper and plastic cups.Tip: a coffee maker in the room and the availability to use or ask to heat food in the microwave, for long-stay travelers.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! UNSAFE, eerie and not as described

    rating10 Sept 2025

I would like to give this hotel a zero but that’s not possible so I’ll give it a one. As two young girls staying at this hotel was not an option, we stayed for 30 mins before checking out of what should a 7 day stay. On arrival to the hotel or should I say dodgy car park the uber driver looked at us in shock an asked us “are u sure this is a hotel” then proceeded to lock in the car and go check it out as he feared for our safety. Upon entry to the “hotel” with a completely different name to the one we booked we instantly felt an eerie atmosphere as we looked around the secluded hotel lobby as we made our way to the room after the receptionist demanding a 200 dollar deposit to which he took my card and passport out of site for about 5 minutes we wandered the corridors to find our room the only thing I can compare this to is hotel Cecil. The room smelt like rice and the door had a hole perfect for anyone to look in our we felt so unsafe that we had to shove our suitcases agaaint the door. Not to mention my phone converted to Korean the second I entered this hotel making me more anxious for my safety. This hotel is perfect for a horror experience if ur looking to fear for ur life hotel koxie or should I say Rotex is what u need !!!!

Nice quiet hotel for in-room working

    rating07 Sept 2024

I recently stayed at Hotel Koxie, which is located about a USD 55 Uber ride from LAX. The check-in process was simple and quick, and the staff at the front desk were very polite and welcoming.I stayed in a room on the north side of the hotel, which offered beautiful views of the mountains. The room itself was quiet, providing a peaceful environment perfect for relaxation. Daily housekeeping was provided by a friendly and efficient staff, which added to the comfort of my stay. One thing to note is that if you're without a car, there aren't many services within 400 meters of the hotel, apart from a nearby 7-Eleven. I found it convenient for grabbing a few morning snacks during my stay. However, if you're up for a walk, there are some great options further afield. I can personally recommend Document Coffee for a great caffeine fix, Good Thai Kitchen for a delicious meal, and Southland Beer to round out your day with a craft brew.

Budget Friendly and Comfortable for the Price

    rating24 Jun 2024

We stayed in the condo styled units across the parking lot from the main tower. They were recently renovated and well appointed. Overall, they were clean and a comfortable place to stay the night. My only complaint is the air smelled a little dingy and the noise from the street really leaks through the windows even though they are closed. Overall, if your looking for a budget stay, this is an ideal spot in Ktown with the Galleria Supermarket one block over and convenience of being near downtown LA.

Dated but Gets the Job Done

    rating09 Mar 2024

I booked here while in LA on a Spring Break trip with a friend largely because of its cheap price point for one night. Just about every other notable hotel within a reasonable distance of Downtown LA was going for exorbitant rates so we decided to book here. After reading the, I came in expecting the worst. The hotel's location is average, it's not really near anything and is a bit of a walk away from the main points of interest in Koreatown. The staff were all solid and while they weren't the most amazing, they felt genuine. The room immediately showed its age through a variety of aspects. Both the chair and the desk chair were old and the desk itself was heavily worn. The decor was extremely outdated and it kind of felt like everything was from the 1990s at the latest. What surprised me, however, was that the cleanliness was excellent. Basically everything in the room was kept tidy which is definitely worth something. One thing that was really problematic with the room however was that there was a serious lack of outlits. The bedside table had no outlets and there were only four total in the entire room with two besides the desk and two near the bed farthest from the window. Also, the bed was quite soft as I think it was memory foam, which might be problematic if you prefer a more firm mattress. The bathroom was small and pretty basic though I do give points for the toilet being of a reasonable height and not having an extremely loud flushing mechanism. Similar to the room, there were no noticeable cleanliness issues in the bathroom and I really liked the shower setup with the glass door. The water pressure and temperature of the shower were both great. For the price, it's really hard to fault the quality of the accomodation, especially as the room was overall quite clean.
