    Owners should be ashamed.

    This property was terrible in every respect. It sits on a busy street with heavy exhaust, the rooms are dim and sparsely furnished, and even basic amenities like a coffee maker or closet are missing. The overall impression is a shabby, neglected flophouse, made worse by towels with questionable stains. Booking and TripAdvisor should rate it accordingly.

    We booked at the jolly Rodger en route with booking.com When we arrived we inspected and it wasn't up to standard from our 3 couples. It was already paid for. They verbally agreed to a refund. 3 weeks later it is still nor resolved by either party. Numerous calls, messages and emails have been un answered. The conditions are that the first night rate be taken upon cancellation, fair enough, but we cancelled within the hour of booking. We requested and by rights should be reimbursed for the other nights that are unused and paid in full for. BOTH parties are at fault here. And if course booking.com will have their cut as well. We are and looks like we are and still will be the losers here. Shame on shonky businesses.

    Quiet and well maintained hotel

    I enjoyed my stay here! The front desk was professional and the hotel was quiet so I could get a good night sleep. There was a coffee maker and refrigerator in the room as well as ironing amenities, hair dryer and flat screen TV. My only complaints are there was no microwave in the room.

    I pre paid a 5 night stay as a solo female and had issues from the get go with an unfriendly check in where credit card detail and a 100$ US up front bond was demanded. There was no hot water in my room and reception staff were unwilling to provide even the bare essentials like fresh towels and a second blanket. In fact every single request to get just the basics was met with a curt unwillingness to help. The Jolly Roger is an unfriendly place which would be more aptly named The Grumpy Roger.

    Affordable and Nice Hotel

    Stayed 1 night on New Year Eve to watch the fireworks at the MDR. This property has lots of restaurants within walking distance and Uber/Lyft is not expensive if don’t want to walk for 30 minutes to the marina and beach. The room assigned to us is clean and spacious with 2 Queen beds. A refrigerator provided in the room. In room basic amenities provided too. The front desk has a hand sink, microwave oven and printer. There is a snack and water vending machines and so, no need to walk out of property if thirsty or hungry. Free parking is a Big Plus in this area. Employee friendly and courteous! I definitely would stay at this place again if I am visiting MDR again. Oops, one thing is the AC unit is quite loud and I have no problem falling asleep but not my husband who is a light sleeper. Maybe, bring ear plugs for those who are light sleepers.
