    I have stayed in hundreds of hotels on six continents. I am compelled to write a review due to the astoundingly unhelpful and unprofessional attitude of the day manager on the day I checked in. First, the positives. The hotel has a good location for what I needed. Valet parking at $60/dy included fast in-out service. The room and bed were clean and comfortable even if the electric plugs were eccentric and hard to reach. The rooftop pool is nice, even if it takes two elevators to access it. Wifi and shower flow were adequate but not joyous. My "Hollywood Hills view" King was 80 percent parking lot but I could see the hills. Here's what prompted me to write a review. My assistant booked us last minute for two rooms for a two night stay May 5-7. As we drove to the hotel around 3pm, I asked my aide to ensure the rooms would be ready, as we had to dress and run asap. Cesar the day manager told us one room was confirmed and one room had been cancelled "on April 26." My assistant asked how that could be, given that she booked both rooms on May 4. Cesar repeated that one room had been cancelled April 26 and that the hotel was full and nothing could be done about it. I asked if there was any cancellation charge, to which Cesar replied there was none. Then he put us on hold and we waited 20 minutes before calling back, only to have him again tell us nothing could be done, and that he had to deal with a guest, placing us back on endless hold. In desperation, I had my aide book a room at another hotel so we could meet our work commitments that day. I arrived, was checked in by the front door clerk (not Cesar) in the small lobby with the minimum of warmth, and went about my work day. I was astounded that a confirmed booking (at an astounding $600/night) got cancelled - not by us - and that the hotel did nothing to help, and told us it had been cancelled over a week before we even made the original booking. Due to this rude surprise, and the rude insouciance and persistent unhelpfulness of the manager, I give this hotel two stars.

    We stay here every few months when we visit our kids and grandkids who live nearby. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Valet parking is safe and convenient. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. We love Carolina!!

    Very pleased I discovered this hotel for a family visit. The room was very comfortable with excellent amenities. I used the 2nd floor lounge area which offered excellent coffee. Location is convenient to several tourist highlights especially the Academy Museum and the Farmers Market. Staff was friendly and helpful.

    We had an extended stay in LA due to a family emergency. The cozy room, friendly staff, Nespresso machine, and evening wine hours provided a welcome retreat. Special shout out to Azela, Michael, Justin, Carolina, Cesar, Cha, Manglio, Oscar, and all the staff, for making our stay at the Kimpton Hotel Wilshire great!

    The stay was good. Double check your bill, I was charged for champagne after I checked out that I did not use or purchase. House keeping determines if you used. They gave a refund after I called and explained I don't drink and purchased nothing from the room.
